He was the most powerful viking of all time at that point, yet it in that scene it seemed like he would trade it all to become a simple farmer again with his original wife and kids.

The most underrated actor in history.

easily one of, if not best series i’ve watched in my life.

I hold breaking bad up to be the best show ever made and I still stand by that. Walter and Jesse to me always were the best protagonists in any show period but then Ragnar came along and changed that.

@@flint_3790 i Breaking Bad was amazing, but .. Ragnar is about so much more then the story of Vikings, and im quite positive his "story" is the make up of multiple vikings during that time, but in this show, and how hes portrayed is hands down, the best character ive seen in a TV show

See, some people was just born for the role, he will forever be Ragnar Lothbrok. One of the greatest roles and characters I've ever seen.

One of the thing I loved about Ragnar is that he didn’t really care to appear superior to other people his didn’t need to shine above others he was just shining he knew how to treat people fairly for me he’s the most realistic leader on tv shows ,most people think Thomas Shelby is the example for the alpha but I think Ragnar is truly the real and realistic alpha on Tv

I appreciate the comparison, but they both thought us something different. Tommy Shelby carried his traumas, they were visible, heavy and he was more intellectual figure - when he tells Arthur I think that’s what I do I think. Ragnar was unpredictable, all intuition and heart - remember his speech to Ivar, be ruthless. They share same level of mysteriousity - Ragnar’s love for Athelstan - Tommy’s forgiveness to Grace, Ragnar’s to Rolo… Watching this video made me think Ragnar’s was best acting ever, but your comment made me think about Tommy. Love them both 😂

Ragnar Lothbrok change my life. His view of the world. An empathetic person can feel the burden of unanswered questions. I also have many questions that vanish once I’am gone. @@Rikko174 same I was an orphan and when I got with my wife and we go to her big family's for anything I feel so out of place and she gets mad at me for that. I never had that and they dont Like me because I don't come from money. I try to explain how upset I get I don't have people to call me and ask if I'm okay if I'm in the hospital or sick. I heard once you die twice in this life once when you take your last breath and second when someone says your name for the last time and I have no one who will remember me. This is why I wish I would have died when I was in the Army because then I could have died for a noble cause and possibly gotten in a book.

This is such a a great show. It’s a shame it’s not that well known. The show deserves so many awards from acting to set design, costume design, music & the writing. I’m sure I’ve left lots of categories off the list.

No One will ever replace this character in such Vikings shows what a true man.

His performance in raised by wolves is nothing less. Dude just makes you wanna cry

It's criminal he didn't win every and any award we have for actors.

Idk how Ragnar’s actor Travis Fimmel didn’t win an award or the show “Vikings” didn’t win any or many awards. I love this show so much. In my top 3-5 all time for sure.

Makers may re-make thousands of show on Ragnar or Viking but the character Ragnar Lothbrok won't be that intimidating in any other face than that of Travis!

His hallucination makes me cry every single time. If only he never left the farm.

Vikings was never the same after Ragnar died. Sure, there’s Lagertha, Bjorn, Floki, and all the rest, but Ragnar felt like the soul of the show

Travis acted his heart out and made Ragnar such a believable character, no one in this show came even close.

I just love Ragnar's personality

Lot of work made us love the character, the acting is one side of it, the framing, the SFX, the music, the vfx, i remember when first i began watching, the eyes color changing was a powerfull way to make you feel and anticipate the spiret of ragnar, and the up comming events. The show is made for Ragnar character no doubt.

An absolute master piece

The moment where Ragnar says that maybe they will never see each other because one will go to Heaven and the other to Valhalla because the Christian God forbids murder (even though Ragnar doesn't believe in gods or at least has doubts) just breaks my heart. Ragnar in the series is a true atheist and a true believer at the same time. Like me. Therefore, as a Catholic by blood, but a believer in evolution, a person with Catholic thinking and family values, I sit for friendship and love between people. One of the touching moments in the entire series. I soo f*ckin love this guys.

You could tell that when Bjorn “changed his mind” and Lagertha and Ragnar looked at each other, that they knew their little boy was broken. At that point Lagertha did not want to leave, but her head was telling her that the pain she was feeling was not right and she had to do this for her boy because he had changed his mind. At that point, Lagertha and Ragnar were still in love. But watching her leave turned Ragnar into a monster. He truly lost himself as well as Lagertha lost her peace, while Bjorn was still pushing on as he didn’t know what was going on and how his life was going to change drastically. Not only did the story begin here for Ragnar but it also ended. Stay humble

After the series i acquired some of Ragnar's personalities including talking,acting and walking... Viking had a huge impact on me never loved a series like i did for this one

I started this show about a month ago. I got to season 3 episode 4. Then my mom started to watch it because I introduce it to her so just because I wanted to see her reaction as I was continuing season 3 I went back and watched all the season 1 and 2 again with my mother that's how you know that this is a good show if you can re-watch episode you just watched two days prior

Fascinating Character, just so fun to watch and carried the series. It is one of my favourite non anime series and that I didnt even finish and will never do

Never watched this but everytime I watch a scene with Ragnar it gives me goosebumps and I get the urge to holler the pain from within and let every ounce of it out or die a miserable and broken soul but nobody knows the feelings of others that's the impossible thing to feel also say emotions run with stains of being left from this earth will anyone remember you or soul nope they will not just the Man of the battlefields with the stuff in his mind and heart

In hindsight it’s interesting that Ragnar almost missed out on Bjorn’s adult life because of his need to have many sons but his first son became his greatest heir!

I still believe they color touch his eyes for the ways he is feeling. When he is out at sea, they are dark blue, when raging, they are ice blue and sometimes they even look violet.
