King Olaf should not be underestimated. We've seen him out-play almost everybody on this show at some point, from Bjorn to Ivar to King Harald. He may be a psychopath, but he's proven that he can hang with the best.

Gunhild was not really proposing Bjorn to have two wife, she wanted to make him feel bad to reproduce his father's mistakes. And Bjorn is not really clever, he should know how bad the events turned when his father cheated on his mother. The poor Lagertha has been married to a stupid jealous husband right after.

Good, he should be bad after he hated his father(Ragnar) for cheating on his mother(Lagertha) with Aslaug and he's been doing the same thing over the years. The hypocrisy is strong with him.

Even when he threw those bandits out of Kattegat and they attacked his mother's(Lagertha's) village and killed his son, he still threw Hvitserk out thinking living would be worse than dying. All these years, Bjorn has learned nothing.

@@antliveyabish9555 And Rollo ended up betraying Ragnar twice, so I don't think it was worth it to keep him alive after being betrayed the first time. In Bjorn's case, what happened to his mother wouldn't change the outcome of her dying because she was on the verge of death anyway after that lead bandit severely injured her in the attack on her village. But the point is that letting his brother go should've been an eye opener not to throw criminals out in the wilderness unsupervised. As "My Autism struggles" suggested, Hvitserk could've been locked up or Bjorn should've just carried out his original sentence and have Hvitserk executed.

@@dwnkaomwn3953 Yeah but the case with Rollo is different: Rollo truly betray Ragnar intentionally and Ragnar knew perfectly the jealousy of his own brother. Ragnar only spare him because he knew his bother was a fierce warrior and respected him and would feel bad to denied his access to Valhalla. Bjorn in the other case know perfectly that Hvitserk would not betray him and never truly wanted to kill is mother. Fact is, Bjorn is disgusted by Hvitserk alcoholism and drug addiction and consider it as a shame for all the Ragnar's sons's legacy. So this is why he can't forgive his brother and want him out of his view.

@@Mikhael_bureau It's funny that Bjorn thinks that because Hvitserk went through a drug addiction that he means he isnt fit to be a son of Ragnar when Ragnar himself had a drug addiction period. So this thing that makes him unfit for thier father's legacy according to Bjorn is something he actually has in common with thier father lol.Maybe that is the real issue though that Hvitserk is reminding Bjorn of a weak part in Ragnar's life hed rather forget. As for the rest ,well I do believe this will bite Bjorn in the ass some.

I mean for the people complaining that it's Hviserk who killed Lagertha by accident....I would say do keep in mind Hviserk finished her off, but Lagertha was clearly dying. i mean her back was completely open she was on her last straw trying to see her son before her death and slithering around on the ground. Who freaking knows she would have likely died minutes later in the dirt, Hviserk just happened to be there and stabbed her. It's something people seem to forget because of the whole it's hviserk who killed Lagertha thing

He banished the bandits from Kattegat in a group and I think it wasn't even winter. Hvitserk was outlawed in winter, alone, with an open face wound and wet clothes, without a blanket/coat, probably without a small knife and tinder. Even today Norwegians don't go out "into the wilds" alone without proper clothes and equipment. (That's only what tourists do and then they have to get rescued...). With the bandits Bjørn knew they would survive, but it is different with Hvitserk. He really wanted to curse him to a fate worse than dying on the pyre (and Hvitserk was starting to pass out from the carbon monoxide poisoning before feeling the pain that comes with burning... I don't even know if Bjørn would have given Ubbe the sign to cut Hvitserk from the pyre, if Hvitserk would have suffered more...): Bjørn tried to prevent Hvitserk from entering any afterlife hall (and probably in the Viking TV series from a chance of rebirth even though how to interpret the Norse concept of death and rebirth is highly discussed). Dying alone in the wild unmourned and unburied was the one way to go that wouldn't let you into a hall of a god, not even the halls of Hel. It means you would be stuck on the icy shores of Helheim, your hair and fingernails bound into the ship Naglfar that is anchored in the river that separates the world of the living from the realm of the dead. Like being neither here nor there, suffering until Ragnarøk when Loki finally will cut the ship loose and steer it to the last battlefield.

I know everybody loves Bjorn but he is useless, he is a rubbish king, husband, brother and father, he is a hypocrite as well he told Ubbe and Hvitserk to let it be to Lagerta killing their mum and Lagerta never went to trial for her death so how about now he is so so so mad and can't let go, he is just a good warrior and good at shagging women for the rest he is just shite and now letting Hvitserk go again will backfire to him as well. Hvitserk will for sure join Ivar and the russ, lets not forget the russ are coming for them. Also It is funny the thing that marked Bjorn the most in his childhood was Ragnar cheating on his mum and having to go through a separation, yet he has cheated on most of his wives and doesn't care about his children.

@@76marex No I actually like him, Im just realistic, he is a great warrior, he has done very good things for his town and his people but I just think most of the decisions he has made, the way he has acted and still acts sometimes, the way he judges and the way he leads and rules lately are the worse. He behaves more like Rolo than Ragnar and that really annoys me, because now I think he actually could be Rolo's son.

Loving my boy Ivar and Igor scenes so much..he truly cares for Igor. & I dint think Igor has many toys this puppet is his new favourite as he talks through it and imitates Oleg which he clearly doesn't take well this episode. Ivars face after Oleg strangles Igor is amazing. That's the mad face I've been waiting for..cannot wait for Ivar to unleash his wrath. Hope Igor and Ivar only grow closer as they take down Oleg & take their revenge. Oleg must be underestimating Ivar cause he continues to keep f*cking with Ivar (making Ivar watch them have sex, bringing up his child constantly, asking about his beliefs in being reborn while smirking at Katya, & now hurting his boy Igor). If Oleg truly knew Ivar as well as he makes out he would of killed him right away or be preparing himself for the storm that is Ivar.... Hitzserk did try to be fair and in also believe its even more fate because he struggled so much and was sure Ivar was coming for him, Hitzserk killing Lagertha almost him free because now he finally knows his destiny and that Ivar isnt coming, he still looks rough but it's quite clear he hasn't been drinking or taking drugs since he killed Lagertha.

@@johnnyskinwalker4095 Well, if this story hypothetically could have happened, then only in Kiev. After all, Oleg really reigned in Kiev at that time. Or events should have happened earlier in time. When he ruled in Novgorod. And let's be honest. This is a good series. But the real history is not there. Even names of some historical characters are pronounced incorrectly. This is a pseudo-historical series. For example, Dir and Askold were not Oleg's brothers. Oleg and Rus at that time were pagans. Rus never attacked Scandinavia. It was not necessary because Rus had own base-settlements in the territory of Scandinavia (in the territory of modern Sweden). The authors of the series know all this. But for the plot, all these details have been changed.
