Also the Scimitar has primary AND secondary shields....not to forget it can fire WHILE cloaked. I believe the Scimitar wiped the floor with Jem'Hadar battleships and cruisers. If the Scimitar in this game was EXACTLY how she was in Star Trek Nemesis there'd be no chance for any ship... That would have been a major plot twist if a Jem'Hadar Battleship showed up to help the Enterprise. I bet between the two and possible with Commander Denotra's two warbirds they would have destroyed the Scimitar. That was AWESOME seeing you blind firing and hitting the Scimitar. Never really seen you do that very much. This was a fun matchup.

​@@RetroBadgerGaming if my memory serves me right, the game shuts down your shields anyway, and you have to restore power to them right? also probably the most frustrating thing about the scimitar is the fact that she's only mounting pulse disruptors, which are touchy in BC. and RE: hitting them while cloaked, that's exactly why KM has blindfire. have you ever tried KM multiplayer? it's quite fun, although the people I introduced to it weren't that interested

Oh yes! This is why I requested this. Both ships are evenly matched (more or less). The Scimitar has such amazing regenerative shields... that's what gives it the edge. The Dominion ship has the firepower edge, but its maneuverability sucks 😆. That was so close when you were in the Dominion ship. The Founders would have been ashamed 🤣. If it didn't take about 10 minutes to prime, Shinzon should have used the Thaleron emitters. I suppose it would work on Jem'Hadar. They are organic. 😀

If your mod allowed the scimitar to fire whole cloaked and gave you the secondary shields you could probably take on 3-5 jem-hadar battleships at once while sustaining minimal damage.

Well, the said in the Dominion war, the Remans were wicked warriors.. hmm. In this case, too bad could not open the wings of the Scimitar lol. just saying.. that would take out the Jem'Hadar... eeh.. When the ST: TNG Nemesis movie was released, it was rumored that the Scimitar is actually a Dominion Battleship that was captured by the Remans. It was then rebuilt to look like a Reman ship.

I’ve wanted to see this match up for ages. I always thought the Scimitar would have the edge but it would take some serious damage before taking down the Jem’Hadar battleship.

RB there is another factor you are missing about the weapons. Jem'Hadar like many species use beam weapons. A single short focused beam. The Scimitar uses cannon type weapons. Yes short single shot but rapid fire, if you look at the rate of fire, for every one shot of a beam weapon the Scimitar fires 4-6 shots from a single cannon, multiply that by say 5-7 cannons in a single volley. The effect may come down to roughly the same damage but it's down to durability, think of the old saying "a thousand stings can kill " I believe that this was Shinzons idea from the start. Shields are good but how long can they last before the short out from such a barage?

In my mind, firing lots of individual burst shots probably does more cumulative damage to shields over time, similar to how pulse phasors work. Polaron beams were essentially leveraged because they can penetrate most conventional shields. Once the Federation (and other species) adapted their shields to block them, they probably aren't much more effective than your regular phasors.

The Scimitar just does not stop firing. That's amazing.

Great matchup. Grudge match! I was thinking at the start the Dominion ship would be the overall contender. It does pretty much show how Shinzon, as he asserted to Picard, could have obliterated the Enterprise E if he had gone full force.

I was watching an older video of yours featuring the Scimitar where you asked whether it was the only ship of its class. In a novel the Scimitar was created by the Romulans to fight the Dominion and Shinzon destroyed all of the other, unfinished, ships. It certainly makes more sense to me than the Remans building it.

The battleship design really is gorgeous at that scale. The smaller variants don’t work as well

It's rare for the Scimitar to look small. Puts the scale of the Dominion Battleship into perspective!

I luv these what-if battle scenarios.

The thing that made the scimitar so deadly was the battle cloak, it allowed for full weapon useage so the scimitar to play with immunity.

The Scimitar, is peak balls to the wall, Praetor/Consul ordering (possibly while drunk) "I wanna a ship that can kick the sh*t out of 3-4 1st rate ships alone, with enhanced cloaking and a super weapon!" Engineer "but sir, it be massive and only a few could be built; they'd cost fortune an..." Praetor/Consul: "...Did I stutter?"

Seriously though... Some dont like the Scimitar, but imo, its fantastic; and within the setting. Yes its very powerful, But its very big! first, the Fed have ran into a fair few were their ships are smaller and or less powerful (even the Galaxy classes). But its not a OP ship, a ship that's really more than a match for a galaxy class or 4 happens to be like, three - Four times the size of a Galaxy. And we didn't even see the fighters deployed!

That was a good battle that. The Schimitar defintely the better ship.

Considering you won each round with each ship, it does mean the CO makes all the difference when the ships are evenly matched. Personally I would give the edge to the scimitar due to her firepower and maneuverability.

I think the scimitar is a lot more nimble than the Jem hadar. That is a definite edge, allowing you to dictate where you hit and get hit.

All these big ships have the same problem; their turn rate is too slow and their size makes it easy to focus on one shield facing. I know this isn't about the D'Deridex but same problem.

OK, you boosted the weapons power on the Scimitar during the battle but not the Battleship. I think it can be extremely even. The true Scimitar can fire while cloaked, so without escorts the Dominion is toast.

@6:50 Seems this would be the time to bring that "repair" subsystem online. Was that available to the player?

The Scimitar is certainly no joke, but it made quicker work of the Dominion ship than I expected it to.

Battleship fire rate seems too low. It should be able to fire multiple beams simultaneously. That thing is gigantic.

I saw a video earlier that showed that the Jem-Hedar Battleship was bigger than the Enterprise 1701J. Does it look bigger on to you? Also have you tried putting the Enterprise 1701J against the Jem-Hedar Battleship? I'm pretty sure who will win but I'd still like to see it

WOW! Really? I think in Canon the J will definitely be bigger, I'll have to see if there is a version of the J in Remastered, if there is I'll definitely do the battle. The Jemhadar Battleship in Kobayshimaru is very underpowered.

Bolt weapons do fixed damage. Beam weapons lose potency at range. Get closer.

I thought the battleship had these big siege cannons, or is that only in KM. Those were what I was betting would make the difference.

so the scimitar is more superior both are superior to any starfleet ship. it's kind of scary that even during the DW era starfleet had no ship in their catalog to actually go toe to toe with these ships... even by picard era IM not sure the Enterprise_F (odyssey class) could take on these ship 1 v 1

Indeed! The Enterprise F is no match for these ships. The Federation lost a lot of ships during the Dominion War. I suppose starfleet focus was mainly on exploration. Of course the Borg changed things, but the other races put all their development into warships. 🖖

The scimitar is post Dominion war right? Scimitar should be more advanced
