View From The Driver's Seat | Factory Red Bull KTM

Спорт

We spent the day with Cory Flewellen as he takes us through his life as the transport driver for Factory Red Bull KTM. We wanted to spotlight what this job entails, aside from driving a massive shop on wheels. Click play and find out as we take a ride along from KTM North America headquarters and roll down the street to Anaheim 3 supercross.

The drivers are one of if not the most hard working guys behind the scenes. I'm glad to see that most teams appreciate their drivers and treat them well!

I went to a bunch of races last year and every time I go in the pits I take a look at the wheel wells on your trucks and they are spotless. I can’t believe how clean you guys keep your trucks. You a great job keep it up and stay safe!

That’s a great question and an interesting story in itself. Perhaps he’ll do a vlog about it some day. As his mom, I can tell you that Cory has always loved engines and any vehicle that goes fast. We always figured he’d end up working around engines one way or another. He was never one that set his sights on sitting through 4 years of college …. he needed to be working with his hands and either fixing or figuring out how systems worked. He’s had a variety of jobs and volunteer work or clubs from a young age that all combined in some way to prepare him for this career. Plus he had some great mentors along the way that taught him to have a great work ethic and the confidence to go after the dream. He built on his natural skills and did a lot self educating about the industry for years (mostly by being a super fan and learning from social media and videos like this) and he tossed in some formal education at the local college and truck driving school. He mentioned briefly in this interview about he and dad going to the races and how much he enjoyed walking through the pits and talking to the crews. It’s true … that’s always been a highlight and he learned a lot just by watching what was going on. I won’t give too much away so he can tell his story to you all another day. Be a believer and the dreams do come true. He’s been blessed.
