@@damntueton nah son. Always goes on the bottom. You put it on top and it just slides off. You put it on the bottom and it keeps the bottom bun from getting soggy and it doesn't slide around because the burger weighs it down

@@atrinoisa True but if the bun is toasted or possibly has mayo on the bottom then either way will work. I just love burgers and those looked so good. Glad they didn't try to mess them up with too much stuff as in ketchup, mustard or pickles. I know lots of folks like that stuff but I prefer my burgers relatively pure although I do like the lettuce and tomatoes. And those tomatoes looked really good.

@@vipr1142 It should be noted that Vietnam, especially Saigon, has a lot of Western influence. English is also a mandatory taught subject in the schools (used to be French), so their proficiency in English is not really unusual (for younger people). Also being in Saigon, I doubt that they've never seen a hamburger before, although the title could be splitting hairs in that they've never eaten a CHEESE burger before.

They are good, have visited Chuck's burger every time I've gone to Vietnam since 2014. After a couple of weeks eating local food a good burger is amazing

Maybe I’m just in a squishy mood or maybe I’m just over simplifying, but it’s sorta cool that completely different cultures can appreciate one another over something as simple as a burger. Kinda sweet, I think! Super easy way to remember that we don’t have to have things the same & we don’t even have to like what the other person has, but we still can appreciate the individual! There’s always common ground somewhere, if anyone bothers to look

Theres at least 10 Vietnamese restaurants in my county , all usually busy with locals loving it . Jefferson County, Texas . Vietnamese culture is loved here . So seeing American foods in Vietnam is not surprising . Vietnam is an emerging , creative culture that stands to become globally powerful through thinking way outside the box .

For some reason, all fast food chains in Vietnam like McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, Dominoes pizza, etc. all carry fried chicken. Probably something for the kids there that they can eat if they're not comfortable with American fastfoods.

depends what was his original investment on those franchises he owns? he may own them n still actually paying mcdonalds off still... and since they are oversea's he prolly have to pay for importing products... he might make 20k or so per store (maybe less) but thats still huge money for vietnam terms.. american terms not so much

I'm so happy you went to Chuck's. He's awesome and that's the most authentic and delicious burger in Vietnam. I love going there whenever I'm in Vietnam. In 2000, I wanted to open a burger place in Saigon. I was going to call it "Big American Burger" and I wanted to use a round French break roll as the bun. I couldn't come up with the capital at the time and now Burger King and McDonalds have made their way there.

I'm proud that I've been a crew of McDonald's :) . I've graduated college for being a crew :). Working Student
