Vienna - Budapest 1971
Amateur super8 film footage recorded in 1971 about a trip to Vienna and Budapest, purchased from eBay.
The film was recorded in various frame rates (12, 18 and 24 fps), so movement can be jerky sometimes.
The film was scanned at Keskenyfilm Studió. (Keskenyfilm.hu)

Eastman Kodak Ektachrome or possibly Kodachrome, Super 8 spliced. Standard frame rate for S8 is 18 fps. Almost nobody ever cranked it up to 24 fps, you would burn through a Super 8 cartridge much faster that way. Historical footage for me, as I defected from Hungary in the summer of 1971. Interesting footage also, because at 7:24 I see the top of the building where I presently (June 2022) live. I also have stuff shot in Hungary between 1968 and 1971, Regular 8mm and 16mm. Interesting! Vienna was Austrian at that time, inhabited by German speaking people, but today it's becoming a third wold city populated by migrants. On the other hand Budapest was beautiful in everything what was Hungarian, but the city was occupied by communist. Today Budapest is free from foreign oppression and it's populated by Hungarian speaking people. The wheel of time turns, what was above goes to the bottom, what was below goes to the top. As always in history. The best example for this is the case of US - China.
