Video20:- Metronome Stirling Engine with Torque update6

Ғылым және технология

still using coil of 270ohms, but now with 19mm diam magnets, which fits nicely in centre of coil. the voltage and amperage is higher now.
Open cct of 10volts, voltage drops 3 to 4 volts at 30mA's when led is connected,.
second video have a filament bulb connected, when loading up via changing resistor, the unit stopped, but later i found that there was thick black residue build up underneath the can from the wax being burned off from the candles.
This hindered the performance. I have bought stainless steel food storage containers, just waiting for them to arrive, perhaps the black residue build up will be less with stainless steel. will be making different size coil, with less windings see if i can get the filament bulb to light, it should light up between 50 to 100mA's more to come..

Yes stainless steel will increase performance much more and be more reliable.. also use the coil from a microwave, its already setup and will work much better..

thanks for that, still playing with this unit for now.

Soot is a good heat insulator, if you want to burn it with a candle, you must design the candle so that it does not makes soot, i.e. it burns with a blue flame. This is done by putting a coil of wire in the flame, which gives it more oxygen. Maybe Blade Attilla has such a video. Or make a heat trap under the machine and place the candle further away from the bottom. The heat trap also means a lot. If the machine blows well, you can also drive 50-100 LEDs with a turbine. I think the coil should be smaller than the magnet, but you can also use a stepper motor as a vibrating generator, For example : kzread.info/dash/bejne/oZiopM6iYLyrpsY.html

Yeh i have seen that video but did not know that was a stepper motor until now. I will try the wire in the candle, thanks for the tip much appreciated.

Yes the heat trap is very important aspect when going with candles.. if you were to do alcohol then I would suggest you leave it open as you have it but with candles you need to use a heat chamber and keep the candles farther away... very good suggestions...

information a reciprocating engine should have a CRANKSHAFT and flywheel assembly. PERIOD. a conversion to Rotary motion has huge benefits; while a tiny amount of energy from the engine is absorbed by the linkages. as with any prime mover, the engine Should have mechanical advantage (MA) over the load; doing this contributes to the partial isolation of the prime mover from the load. it is known that the output of a heat engine is always low-torque. so... the GOAL should be to Convert highest possible engine speed to lower rpms, with an increase in torque potential. this should be done via the use of a low-loss single-stage of high-ratio Reduction at the output shaft. the use of a vertical orientation is NOT recommended. bc GRAVITY. and its corollary, convection. ideally, the orientation of the primary axis of the field of the neo-mag should be 'perpendicular' to the orientation of the winds. a generating coil should be made in a certain way.! a generating coil should not have too many winds or layers. a generating coil should have the shape of brooks coil (square copper cross-section); it should be wound using 14awg magnet wire; or equivalent copper in litz wire. the latter is a good idea and not that difficult to do by hand. a generating coil wound with litz wire should make relatively more volts, while NOT acting as a high resistance current clamp. like your coil does. d

Thanks for the info, most helpful, i know I can add flywheel crankshaft, and will look at doing this later, I just want to see what i get with this configuration first. It takes time to build stuff and test. I have made several coil bobbins today and will wind them with less wire, I also made another piston, which works quite well.

Yep 100% I agree with the flywheel and gearing, there's plenty of torque, I'll upload next vid
