Paula Abdul had nothing to do with this choreography. Anthony Thomas was her principal choreographer for the Rhythm Nation project. Meanwhile Paula was well underway promoting her own major musical project Forever Your Girl around this time. Use Google before spreading misinformation.

Michael brought her in contact with Prince's prottegee's Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis who worked for her 1988 Rhythm Nation Album. It was a great hit and a step forward for her dance and music works later on.

I do not believe Mike gave her the contact for Jimmy jam and Terry lewis to which they produced her 1986 Control album and Rhythm Nation album a few years later 1990 and been with her for the majority of her albums. MJ has worked with them tho in late 80s but nothing came out of it to be released. However Yes she asked Mike if she could use the military Choragraphy in her new video as a big brother should, he let her even tho he was wanting to do so in a video but he did finally use it for They don't care about us live on the history tour and a more elaborate for This is it

MJ didn't know Jimmy & Terry and could not have put them in contact with Janet, it was all Joe. Fun fact: Michael was so head over heels for Rhythm Nation (he called it his favorite Janet video) that he tried to snag Jimmy & Terry for the Dangerous album, but they declined out of loyalty to Janet.
