It has been nearly a week since the horrible collapse of the Champlain Towers South, a new video has emerged showing the building moments before it went down.

Certainly not knowing the building would collapse, at 1am, the only thing possible to do is pull the fire alarm. If the doors are locked after hours requiring a key, how to get people to notice is scary. Police and fire dept wouldn’t arrive because of that kind of call without significant damage being reported. Seven min. isn’t a lot of time to warn a lot of people except pulling the fire alarm. The entrance caved in too so she would be risking her life not knowing the building was going to collapse.

The report did not anticipate anything of that nature. A forty year old building does not naturally collapse that way as the foundations go deeply into the ground with ferry-cement posts. Check the buildings in Dubai built from sand they purchase all over the world. They are robbing the beaches of precious sand. Do you see these high rises collapsing in Dubai ? the engineering is the same. They have the tallest buildings in the world and they do not collapse. There is no reason a 12 story building should come down , looking 100% like DEMO ! Hello !!!!!!

Funny . cuz the sister building is bone dry in its lower level parking garage . Whatever happened with Champlain South is directly attributed to seawater inundating and flooding the lower underground parking structure and all the footings the support columns are supported by. That and if there was a leak from the top floor internally, dripping through all the floors, and more water proofing of pool is a disaster waiting to happen. @@commenter7893 New York has very different geology than south Florida. You can also find ample evidence that this building was not built to the specs on the blueprints (e.g. the pool deck not being properly sloped, columns the wrong size) and maintenance was badly neglected, allowing saltwater to corrode both the concrete and rebar. I believe this building is also on or near the oceanfront, and Florida is extremely humid. That's not the case for most buildings in New York.

I thank the Israelis so much for their sacrifice and there help but I'm a lil confused on how that even happened I'd imagine a neighboring country lending a hand but a country so far away is unexpected i guess we must be in very good terms with them either way I still appreciate it

Are you new to the planet? It used to be everybody tried to help each other, and the America of the past led the way. The Red Cross, Red Crescent, Israeli rescue specialists, the French “Doctors Without Borders”, UN-UNICEF, volunteer health care and fire depts from around the country and around the world, worked together when disasters struck anywhere. We have been so privileged in this country, and it used to be we were grateful. Out of gratitude for our good fortune, we volunteered, contributed, and tried to leave a damaged place in better shape, no matter who it belonged to, better than before. That is one of the points to having ALLIES, a point obviously not perceived by TFG, who ungraciously spat on our allies and accused them of being thieves. International doctors came to help the Navajo. UK and Germany helped Puerto Rico. And CanCancun Cruz went to Mexican Riviera while his constituents in TX froze and suffered without water, food-so New Yorkers raised $4MILLION and sent volunteer electrical linesmen and repair crews, water, food, even sent pet food, and supplies to shelters.

Their Search and Rescue Brigade are often involved in larger rescue events all over the world as they have a highly specialised team. When we had huge forrest fires here in Sweden we had help from Italy with water bombing despite them being 1600 miles away. I don't think it is that odd, but maybe not highlighted in the media as often as it should be.

The building itself didn't have any surveillance footage that can shed some light on what was going on inside? Seems the garage would have had a security camera and on each hallway? What kind of security did they have in that building? None? Would have gone a long way to help authorities to put this puzzle together.

The failure had started at that point and the people next door heard it. If you look closely you can see concrete debris all over the floor of the garage. I'm guessing the pouring water came from broken sprinkler lines.
