Video. James Penton: Jehovah's Witnesses and the Third Reich

From our 2003 archives. Professor James Penton attended the convention of former Jehovah's Witnesses in England and Wales and shared the disturbing truth about the Watchtower leaders attempting to court Hitlers favour and then, when this failed, their taunting of Hitler.
The aftermath of these taunting interactions between The Watchtower and Hitler had a devastating impact on the unsuspecting but brave individual Jehovah's Witnesses as Hitler determined that "this brood'' must be destroyed.

Your talk was very informative, thank you James. Because ,of Rutherford, many died, he was really unwise and apparently lacking in God’s spirit. If we had only known.

Rutherford although knowing that the Witnesses were or being executed or jailed instructed them to continue to distribute their literature. Many members died and went of to labor camps because of the above. Rutherford mistreated the Jews in a very bad way. Russel was more friendly towards them.

Amazing, the fact that Rutherford liked to be called Judge told me everything about this moron. He was an old angry drunk and single handedly did much to ultimately destroy this religion . Great history lesson on how to identify a mad man. Peace

I remember when jw elders and missionaries spoke like this. It pretty much ended by the 1990s.

I am an exJW from Germany. My father was baptized in 1947. He told me several times, that one of his closest friends was at that meeting and that the German National Anthem was used there!! His friend was also not happy with what was said there. Unfortunately, I was too little to remember the other details. I wish my dad was still with us, he would know so much about this time as a witness in Germany.

Poor fellow, he really trying hard, especially when people clap, he think he is succeeding in hurt the watchtower. Jehovah witnesses will be here right down to the end. Even when the governments turn on religion, and all the religions run and close down, Jehovah witnesses will still prevail. People like this POOR FELLOW , have been trying since the 1890s but YOU CAN NOT STOP JEHOVAHS ORGANISATION, OT A CHANCE. Acts 5 38 and 39.

@@archieliburd3794 The Watchtower didn't exist until the 1870s so that Scripture cannot apply to them, it applies to the Christian church , body of Christ, which has never ceased to exist since Christ started it Matt 16:18. Though I understand why all of the false religions that began in the USA in the 1800s want to apply that scripture to themselves, it actually proves they cannot be the very Church it is speaking of. Irony at its best I guess

Oh he's not trying to hurt the Watchtower, how can you hurt an emotionless stone cult? He's trying to comfort those the Watchtower has hurt, all those broken families, all those who died by suicide or through the WT banning organ transplants, vaccinations and serums in the past.
