Now that you’ve brought up Piglet’s Big Game, I shall give you my wholeheartedly respect for you for making me remember this perfect and nostalgic game, especially the main menu where you navigate the area to either play each section of the game or changing the settings. Oh wow i didn’t think you would talk about Wandersong!! I’m so happy because that game was an absolute blast to play, and it’s fun to play through it twice to get commentary from the game devs. The menu really was the best too. Thank you for mentioning Wandersong, i hope more people will play it in the future as i think its one of the best indie games i’ve played since a looong time. Brutal Legend's menu is all about style, with the LP being flipped around. I remember 2 titles with menu's that felt satisfyingly heavy and mechanical: Warcraft 3, and Code Name: STEAM.

Speaking of good design, your title and ending cards and bumpers are sooooo good. Your videos aesthetic is very good and I love it.

Whenever i start xenoblade 2s menu i sit to listen to the music and look at the background of the menu for like 10 minutes Its such a simple one yet amazing at the same time, the menu reminds you how far you have gotten into the game by showing an image relating to what chapter you have reached, and also after completing a new game + you get a special one with nia (one of the main characters) looking back at you for a second before continuing to look at the world tree

One of my faves menu has to be Splatoon 2 because you can walk around like walk to a clothing store to multiplayer

LittleBigPlanet A series with a main-menu so good they never dared stray from it in any entry, I just love how cohesive it is with the rest of the game, you have a game based around creating and sharing your creations. So your menu, the pod is essentially a big cardboard space-ship, with the main elements represented by planets, Earths for playable levels and a Moon for creation, it really sells the idea of a huge universe full of creations that you can explore at your leisure. Also, it's such a great touch that you can decorate your pod with stickers and decorations and truly make it your own, making it so whenever you play with other players, online or otherwise, you get to see new and unique pod designs all the time, making sure the idea of "play, create and share" is always evident throughout your playtime. This series is better than Mario Maker don't @ me

The fact that you showed Breath Of The Wild so frequently is frankly incredibly misleading. It has a sleek main menu that sets the stage for a modern masterpiece and the ingame menus are terrific too. The Main menu opens with a calm melody as beautiful concept art takes center stage. The onscreen options are direct and streamlined. The ancient chimes and the way the menu slides away to give way to submenus is a nice touch and everything is boxed and made to be easy to digest. The ingame menus feature sheikah design on a tablet digital backdrop. It features tabs relating to things like quests and indexes as well as more system based options like saving your progress. Despite the inventory menu featuring a lot of info at once it is systematically spaced to provide a less cluttered experience then standard open world games. Quest items feature their own tabs and items like food is separated into ingredients and completed meals. The cherry on top is the controls for everything in the bottom right of the screen so confusion is completely eliminated. I would love to here your experience and as too why you found the Breath Of The Wild menu bad but honestly I find it a brilliant edition to an already brilliant game

Jet Set Radio had a pretty cool Mode Select and Character Select screen! :P

I absolutely love the Hotline Miami 2 menu. The aesthetic is fantastic. Each level being a VHS tape with a cool cover art is awesome. The color pallet is stunning. The sounds effects are great. The music is beautiful. And the background spoils the ending in a subtle and way that you can only notice after beating the game. After you notice this the relaxing tune playing in the background gets a really melancholic and eerie vibe. Amazing.

The Age of Empires II menu is excellent design, and is a good example of skeuomorphism. It involves navigating around the alley of a medieval town, and it's just so cool, as it even has ambient sounds, such as wind, birds chirping, and horses clopping. For a 90s game, the menu is amazing.

Dang, no Brutal Legend mention? The whole intro is Jack Black in live-action buying a metal album themed around the game, then it seamlessly turns into a menu when he puts the vinyl on a table and the camera focuses on it. The player can navigate through different parts of the cover and the vinyl itself to access different menu buttons, all while the transitions are still filmed in live-action and metal plays in the background.
