I’m glad you had such a good time in Phoenix. Most people have this idea that it’s just a dusty hicktown. As a California transplant, it’s good to see people realize it’s a bustling city, filled with great food and pretty much anything you could want in a major metropolitan area,surrounded by tons of natural beauty.

Your game hunting and Japan travel videos are my favorite content that you have put out. I of course love seeing all the game stores, but I especially love all the in-between things like local culture. Gives me a little taste of traveling when I can't at the moment. Would love to keep seeing more of these!

Glad to see my area get some love. I’ve been a longtime customer at Zia, Fallout, and Bookman’s. And I just discovered 1Up Games as well as Desert Sky Games. Phoenix has a pretty cool gaming scene. Glad to see that you were able to get some great finds.

1up generally has lower stock but im within walking distance. Gaming zone def the best place around imo, check both locations out

Just imagine yourself visiting a store to make some game pick-ups and then you end up watching yourself in a video you made about game pick-ups. Only Reggie was missing to complete the full circle. Quite surreal indeed!

I've been a little disappointed in the game selection though, so it was so nice to see other places that I need to check out. I was bummed moving here from San Diego but your enthusiasm for the game shops made me feel a little better about it.

i live in new mexico and every time a relative comes they talk about the blue skies all the time.

My hometown, 1up and fallout were my go to stores! Awesome episode!!

I have lived in Phoenix for almost 20 years and never heard of these places, except Bookmans and Zia records (have spent HOURS looking at the games, books and music sections, in both places). Thanks for showing me my new hang out spots!

14:50 "a little bit smaller" he says... That store is still double the size of the ONLY gaming store I have around in my area. And that is (of course) a Gamestop... I think I never have been to a gaming store that big in my 30+ years of collecting :(

@@XDWX there is a fallout games in tempe, a store called gamesmash in avondale( their selection is overpriced in my opinion), and desert sky games in chandler(probably has the best arcade in az).

You guys been to the arcade bar in Gilbert? Level One. It's near Gilbert rd, tucked in behind some restaurants.

I'd forgotten about "Tail of the Sun", that game absolutely consumed me for weeks back in the day. That was just before you could hop on the internet to figure out what was going on in a weird game.

I used to live in Arizona. Hated it, but after I moved away I realized it was kinda nice. Summers are way brutal though. That’s basically your winter. Another awesome video dude!

@@MetalJesusRocks you wouldn't be the first - there's already a TON of PNW people in Phoenix and that number is going up exponentially. Housing costs have obviously gotten nuts in PNW so people are selling their homes for big amounts and then coming here and buying cash because it's cheaper here (though that's changing quickly).

It's SUPER smart they're playing your pick-up videos for any game store. Expert recommendations on what to grab!

It's all subjective. I lived in Tempe/Mesa for only 4 months to take some classes, and I hated every minute of it. I was so happy to see Arizona in the rear-view mirror. 😂

I agree that the Phoenix area is beautiful, because I don't live there either. I usually go out that way for concerts- a few good friends of mine live there- and every time I land at the Phoenix airport my breath is taken away. Even just the view from the sky landing is amazing, but next time I'm out there I'll steal one of my friend's cars and go game hunting!

Please move to Phoenix some day, Metal Jesus! Or at least be sure to visit again soon. Glad to hear you had a welcoming trip here!

Seeing that Game Boy kiosk brings back memories from when I first saw one in my local videogame store as a kid, safe to say I went back there and played it quite a few times until I finally managed to afford my own Game Boy.

Heck yea, that's my local Fallout Games on Tatum & Thunderbird. They've always been so good to me over the years, I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit! Also, you came during a pretty good time of year when it starts to warm up, but isn't even close to oven mitts hot yet.
