Dude, thanks for this upload. I won't go into details but, I didn't live my best life in my 20's, and I lost a lot of my childhood possessions. However I never lost my love of video games. In 2016 for my 40th birthday my sister gave me the best gift I've ever gotten. She got me some t-shirts and other things then tells me she has one more thing and gives me an NES. I'm stoked, I freak out and am so excited. I say "holy shit dude, a legit NES!". She says "no, this is YOUR NES." It was my childhood NES that I got for Christmas 1988. My mom who passed in 2014 had gotten it for me despite our family not having much money. I played the hell out of any game I could get my hands on. I LOVED that NES. She had saved it all these years because she knew how much it meant to me, and now it sits in my living room getting the attention it got 30+ years ago. I love your channel and this video meant a lot to me.

He probably did some "research". Dig up some family photos, talk to ma and the rest of the family about it (he mentions uncles and cousins). Probably he had to also buy again or dig up from some old closet some of the toys and games, maybe he even had to restore the packaging, etc etc this video might have more work behind the scenes that it seems

It Is a very special feeling... Waking up the 25th and seeing gifts laying under the christmas tree. It's not only the material things you are receiving, but the anticipation and emotion you felt with each passing day of December. I was born in 82 and sure as hell miss those old childhood days. When you grow up, you get a job and start buying your own presents (and for your parents and younger relatives). All the emotion, joy and surprise of getting a special present for you is gone. Gifts turn from Videogames to underwear and pajamas (and other boring stuff). This Christmas I didn't even received a present for myself, but instead gave my parents and nephews the kind of presents I knew they would feel excited for (based on their hobbies, loved activities, etc). It feels great , giving something to your loved ones, but I remember the times when I was little... Like when my Dad gave me my NES console (Mario/Duckhunt edition), or when I received my SNES. I will always keep those memories printed on my heart, sure I'll always miss those good old happy days.

We still have our Sega Master System II!! My oldest brother got it from a KB Toys. Today, I realized the Alex Kidd in Miracle World pack-in was the best version because even though they replaced the onigiris with hamburgers, the game made 1 the attack button and 2 the jump button to welcome players who are used to the NES controller norm. My brother also got Ghouls 'n' Ghosts for the Master System when he got the console, which I would later find out is the best version of the game because the health bar and armour upgrades made the game playable compared to the sado-masochistic difficulty the series is known for. I didn't learn until recently that port is our rarest game in our collection (especially since we still have it CIB), so it is a treasure to me. Good memories that flooded to me when you showed us your Master System II!!

I also got Spy Hunter for Christmas. And I too had a bad Sear Cataglog experience ordering a Nintendo game. In my case, it was ordering Super Mario Bro 2. It took over a year to arrive. After a year of waiting, the local Toys R Us had it, so we picked it up and canceled the order at Sears. But for whatever reason, the order from Sears was not truly canceled and it eventually arrived sometime later. (And my parent's CC was charged.) We gave it to my cousin for his birthday instead of returning it.

Christmas of 1987 and getting an NES was amazing! One of my favorite Christmas gifts ever. I don't remember anymore due to getting older if I played Turbografx on Christmas 89 or 90 (Never owned one but an Uncle and one of my Cousins both got it on the same Christmas and I visited them both that day) but I have vivid memories of playing Bloody Wolf. I wanted a Turbografx so bad, but my parents didn't want to shell out the money for one (as I have younger siblings so they would have had to have bought to turbo tap and extra controllers and the whole 9 yards) so they ended up getting me a Sega Genesis which I still play to this day, so that worked out for me, but, yeah, I remember the Turbografx blowing my mind at the time.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Pats. Awesome video, made me nostalgic for the old games. My First console was SNES, with Zelda/Donkey Kong as games. Eventually i got Doom (i was 8, i love my mom for being very absent minded when it came to game ratings) , which funny enough was defective, game would only play for like 5-15mins than freeze. This was also all in Poland, first SNES i gotten fried within 1 hour of playing the console, due to power difference. second time around, my dad did some engineer magic, and built a custom power cord with power converter, that worked with SNES, funny enough, due to PAL TVs being different, i played all SNES games in black and white. =) As well certain games i had to beat with American to polish Dictionary, me and my dad would spent hours translating stuff in the game. Was very mind blown when i came to USA, and experienced the games in color, of course i brought my SNES with me and my games. (which was only like 5-7). I guess there is certain things i never forget nostalgic with original video games i ever owned, they forever have special place in my heart. especially Zelda link to the past/Donkey Kong 1-3, Aladdin (SNES version is better than any Aladdin game ever created in my opinion), Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighters 2 Turbo, and my favorite RPG of all time, Mario RPG.

Thank you Pat, hope you had a good Christmas and I wish you a better New year! My last Christmas gift by Santa Claus was the Nintendo 64! And it was the perfect gift of any Christmas.

Spending my summers at Seaside Heights, I wonder if Pat and I ever shot the geek together or played arcade games together at Lucky Leos without realizing it.

Even if you don't upload very often, I still really liked this video and I'm glad you're always consistent with the quality and the comedy of your videos, unlike youtubers that upload weekly, have sponsorships and make uninteresting videos just over 10 minutes.
