I sat right next to his sons at a famous Manhattan steakhouse. There were SS agents positioned all around the restaurant. I was never “screened” or checked for possessing a firearm. So I am not surprised. The only thing separating me from Donny and Eric Trump was a large clear glass window and one secret service agent enjoying a steak for the couple of hours we were there.

There are other law enforcement agencies (state and local) that shared this responsibility. I don't know how many different places Trump travels to, and how long he stays at each. There's only so much one agency can do in the time frame allowed.
