Gentle circus tricks? Harnessing the horses fight or flight instincts. He's learnt not to fight, nowhere to go but onto his haunches and from there to leap up into the air. Why do we want to do this to a poor horse, let it be.

River P classical dressage came from NATURE. They aren't circus tricks. It is healthy for the horse especially if you plan on riding them, they learn to carry themselves better. Clearly you don't know what a stressed and scared horse looks like if you have such a problem with this. I bet you no problem with modern dressage, do you? That put so much more strain on a horse when people ride them BTV (I've never seen a modern dressage horse that wasn't) and most of all on the forehand. I don't care if this was 3 years ago this is ridiculous.

River P I looked at your videos and surprise, surprise, a modern dressage horse ridden BTV. This guy is barely even putting pressure on the reins and yet you complain about how it "has nowhere to go but up" while you have no problem with the horse with a tight FLASH on that is even opening its mouth a little from bit pressure?
