This is something I can empathise with. Most of the people around me also always harbour deep and inexplicable prejudice and arrogance or even hatred towards people or things they have never seen or touched, which seems to be a kind of blind xenophobia. We cant forget the huge percentages of people in other soviet republics that died. Only 13% of the USSRS Russians died in ww2 while the remaining 87% were other ethnicities like Ukrainians and Belarusians. It was not the Russian federation that beat the Germans in a costly war it was the united soviet socialist republics.
