Glad it helped!
Also- speaking of low expectations for the modern student: ghost stories were for lower class, but the language of Victorian ghost stories are at an exponentially higher level of language and complexity than contemporary literature.
Is this lecture for college or high school? I can’t imagine either level student being unaware of Dickens’ Christmas Carol to the point they have to look it up. Especially if they are listening to this lecture. Also- why do contemporary children and college students need to take a break from an hour long lecture? We have set such low expectations. (Dickens pun intended).
