The ornament being repaired is not Victorian. It is a Christopher Radko ornament made after 2000. Interesting video anyway although it might have been nice to have mentioned what was in the little dish (the sand looking stuff) as well as the actual name of the epoxy used.

ucfeet1: Thanks for the correction. I was just going by what, I think, the client called it. The adhesive, as I mentioned in the clip, is called "hxtl", a two part epoxy made for repairing glass. The adhesive is thin and runny when freshly mixed but as it starts to set it gets thicker. I can slow that process down so that it takes days rather than hours for the adhesive to set by putting the hxtl into the freezer between sessions. The sand looking stuff is clean sandblasting sand.

@@marsgitar "Victorian" is also a style. You can have something newly made and call it Victorian. Besides, that ornament is likely a copy of an old one, a Victorian one.

Esta hablando de como repara un adorno de Navidad de vidrio. El epoxy que utilizo se llama "hxtl" y para poder trabajar con el pegamento utilizo un palillo y puso el pegamento en el freezer entre reparaciones. Tambien hablo de que no le lleven objetos como estos para arreglar porque no le gusta y cobraria un monton de dinero por arreglarlos. En el trastecito con arena puso el adorno para protegerlo de cualquier golpe.

considering this is a new ornament yr 2000 or later I think would have been cheaper and less time consuming to just buy another at Macy's. Not old and not super thin glass like antique German.

Martin Scherer I agree with you completely. I have Christmas ornaments that I inherited from my grandmother, my dads mom. I would be so sad if any would break . I’ve been enjoying your channel and of course I’m a subscriber too . Recently a friend gave me a lladro . It’s so pretty but l noticed that it’s missing part of the handle on the basket. She’s leaning on it basket is full of l think cabbage and she holding asparagus. Truly so pretty l love it . I’m going to try to repair it . I bought the milliputt on amazon. Scared but I can’t wait to have the gumption to do it. Thank You for all that you educate us with your videos. I admire your work and passion for what you do.

The customer may have been gifted the ornament and told it IS Victorian, and/or a gift from some beloved, hence preferring to invest in restoring the original...

glue gun works better

It took you a minute to repair. Why would you charge a person a lot of money for that? It doesn't take a college degree or any great skill to apply a minuscule amount of glue and stick two things together! P.S. That's no antique.
