Victoria Silvstedt, 39, is famous for being an international model, TV personality, and let’s not forget “Playmate Of The Year” in 1997. But what many don’t know is that she’s also a savvy and keen FX and equities trader.
She got interested in serious trading after the 2008 financial crash. Like many people, she admits to losing a lot of money at the time; she mainly invested in general funds. After getting burned, she decided it was time to take control of her finances and she taught herself how to trade, looking first at fixed income and then moving into FX and equity dealing.
So today, Victoria is the one in charge of her investments and trading is a part of her life. On forex, she says she “never gets out before I get my money back”, and that’s served her well, being long dollar over the past few months. She’s cautious about emerging markets and has a renewed interest in Europe.
Victoria talks to Saxo TV’s Lea Jakobiak about what trading means to her, how she’s currently positioned and what she does to keep ahead of the markets. And today she’s more selective in modelling and TV work as she’d rather stay home and trade in order to “make some money”!
