I absolutely love the entire soundtrack! It fits perfectly to the time period, and the game as well. I can't wait to be able to restore glory to some of the great empires, and industrialize them while listening to this. Fantastic work!

The quick switch to a full brass choir reminds me of something you might see from Holst or Sibelius.

Heard "Asset Gathering" in the "Spring 2022 Beta version" helped me pre-order the game. Love them fsr.

My favorite one! It convey optimism and tranquil duty. Makes a to-do list sound like a morning walk in the countryside. Beautiful and inspiring, thank you sir!

I remember hearing this music on a 6oct 1973 documentary. I don't remember if it is the exact same but it might be just a similar audio libraries.

Good evening Hakan (here in Brazil it's already night!). I will ask because I was in doubt. Obviously, the in-game music (as in all Paradox games) is based on their respective themes. "Rule the world" is clearly about the whole imagination of the Victorian Age which, as historian Eric Hobsbaw likes to say, was the Age of Empires. "British soil" is a clear reference to the British empire, the most successful empire at the time. "Death March" I assume is about the notion of the horrors of Modern Warfare. A sense of these horrors began to be created in the American Civil War and the Crimean War. Later, this horror became very expressive with World War I (and the post-war Lost Generation), which probably covers the final phase of the game. Now I question, "Asset Gathering" refers to what? It reminds me a lot of the songs of the "Western Sphagetti" cinema and, consequently, the American expansion to the west but I think I'm wrong. Anyway, thank you very much for your attention!

Hi Luã, Asset Gathering is not that specific. When composing it, I was trying to convey a general feeling of laying down a strategy for a challenge, ie gathering your troops or assets in a broader sense.

"Asset gathering" makes me think of colonialism and industrialization to me. At least the title.

In case you're wondering they sing "Dies irae, dies illa" which means something like "the day of wrath" I think it's referencing some medieval poetry but I'm not sure.

Not in the sense of using the classical form and structure - I just love using the symphony orchestra as a sound palette.
