@@RJCE420 So for background, my first in-person Spurs game was in Robinson's rookie year. But, I'm a realist. Maybe a pessimist. Here's my prediction. And more. Wemby will win DPOY at least 50% of the years he is in the league. He will be in the league for at least 12 years so at least 6 DPOY. You gotta account for injuries, of course. Spurs will win at least 4 chips in his career. He will be finals MVP for all of those years. He will be NBA MVP at least 60% of his years so around 7 MVPs. Probably won't break scoring record. Will come close to or pass Kareem's career blocks record, Will have most 5x5s, most quadruple doubles, top 10 triple doubles in career. Top 10 career rebounds.

Playing as a goal keeper helped him a lot : he reads the ball trajectories very well and both arms are fast and accurate.

Not this year, as his teammates are not that good (that's why they got the 1st pick in the draft, after all). Might not be next year, but as Spurs build the team around him, in 2 to 3 years they should have a very competitive team.

Here is why old heads make no sense. Chuck goes physicality. Didn’t do anything to Wemby. Then they will say but it’s not as physical as before the result would be the same.

@@amandswright2040 Yes : 50 pounds or even 40. More weight means more knee, ankles and feet injuries. People must understand he won't be Shaq 2.0 and that's not who he wants to be.

OK everybody is talking about how good he is... And I agree he is amazing however nobody talks about the result of his team. If I am not wrong they finished almost last... Like really bad result. Am I wrong?

You're right. But the roster is all-time trash tier, yet the Spurs were rarely blown away. The team statistics differentials when Wemby is off the court vs when he is on the court is otherworldly, his impact is just that absurd

What american people call "soccer" is called "football" everywhere else in the world. Wemby speaks a good english but he is not american : he talks about the "football" he knows. At least, this sport is played with a ball and you touch it with your feet. One of these days, an american guy will explain why america calls "football" a sport where nobody touch the ball with his feet but the kicker... Basket ball, hand ball, baseball, volley ball : all these names are logical, ain't they ? American football is a great sport but the name is stupid.
