+Suzy Tresco You know what is so tragic. This man came to the US to lay music. When he learned that a comedian could earn more money making people laugh than a concert pianist could making people think he swore the he would never again play classic music for anything but a joke. - And, he didn't. How tragic such talent should have gone to waste. And what a brilliant man he was.

His son who went by the name VB, or VeeBee. He and his dad, Mr Borge, created the bit and continued to fine-tune it over the years. I do want to correct one thing you said though. VeeBee was Borge's STAGE Manager (as was I for a year after VB stopped). As Stage Manager you are there for every performance in fact "calling the light"ing cues, making sure everything is set-up and run correctly, and assisting the star in any number of ways. It's a grueling job, as Borge would often play a different city five or six nights a week for months at a time. If the airlines had had frequent flyer programs back during my days with Borge, I'd be flying for free still today 2019!

The timid page turner is something of a hero of mine. I recall seeing a version of this as a child and in that particular skit I recall really seeing him nervous over turning pages. I realized at that moment that movement and timing can be just as funny as jokes. Being something of a homebrewed comic, I know the imagination can be more powerful than a laugh track. Probably my first inspiration into comedy. Thank you Timid Page Turner, wherever you are "calling the lights".

He came to El Camino College in Torrance, CA, in May 1984, to perform. I had a front-row seat. At one point I made the mistake of laughing at the wrong time--and got his attention immediately. He turned to face me and asked, "Vhat and vhere did you eat?" 😂

Victor shows that the best comedy is done without the use of fowl language or crude humor. His comedy is one-of-a-kind and it's a shame this man has died. He reminds me so much of my grandfather to where I feel like every time I watch this, I can't help but smile.

there are these very rare performers characters who find a unique niche in their humor, and exploit it so perfectly that they are almost impossible shoes to fill. Nobody will ever do it as well. Well this Borge is one of them. If anyone else tries to copy these running jokes or this premise for humor, they will never escape comparison. Best not to try and just let KZread give us this master whenever we need him.
