0:00 Intro
For this shot I wanted to change the colors a bit, adding more and stronger warm tones plus a bit of glow. All of that was done in Photoshop (plus the camera raw editor).
0:40 1. Basic Adjustments
I changed the profile to Adobe Landscape for more saturation, then adjusted the white balance to make the whole scene slightly warmer. I brought up the highlights and slightly raised the shadows. This led to some more overexposure around the sun, but in my opinion that’s fine in areas like that if it isn’t too big. Then, I added texture and vibrance.
2:16 2. Masking
I started with a linear gradient for the top part of the sky. Here, I brought down the exposure, added contrast and clarity to make the clouds more dramatic. Then, I used a linear gradient over the foreground to bring up the whites and contrast. Using a very thing radial gradient I added a bit of glow above the horizon by bringing up the blacks and dropping the dehaze.
Using another linear gradient over the very near foreground I carefully brought down the exposure to create a subtle vignetting effect. Finally, I added one more linear gradient over the sky to raise the temperature and saturation for a more vibrant, warmer sky.
5:16 3. Color Grading
In the HSL window, I reduced the yellow hue making the sunset more orange. I also increased the orange saturation, while dropping green and aqua. To make the colors more intense I used split toning to add a warm tone to the highlights with high saturation while the mid tones and shadows received a cold color with low saturation.
7:11 4. Photoshop
I started by removing sensor spots and other distracting objects using the spot healing brush. Then, using a soft light layer, I added some more subtle glow with a warm, low opacity brush. I continued by doing some dodging and burning on an overlay layer mainly on the foreground and further played around with curves and color adjustment layers for better colors.

A lot of this can be done in Lightroom, however dodging and burning or the advanced glow effect are better done in Photoshop because its much faster and precise
