Vaikuntha Ekadashi is a major festival of South India. Also popularly known as Mukkoti Ekadashi.
ISKCON Bangalore celebrated the most auspicious festival; Vaikuntha Ekadashi on January 8th, 2017 at Hare Krishna Hill. The temple was decorated with flowers and all the Deities were gorgeously adorned.

Ziggy Schumann This because in the South Indian culture , women are considered to be forms of Lakshmi the goddess of fortune so it is disrespectful to cover the heads of women. Moreover in the South Indian culture, only widows cover their head, unlike the North Indian women. So covering the head is considered to be a sign of widowhood in South India.

Women covering their hair, or wearing hood is not a North Indian Hindu tradition either. But such practices crept in during Islamic subjugation in the North. South India has largely stayed out of the reach of it and hence more preserved in its culture.

@@vernonpillay9167 not aryan bcoz aryans were those people who lived in aryavrata and aryavrata was the part north from vindhya and south from himalayas.so north india was aryavrata and people living there were aryan
