It's always made me crazy when I see people who think they are punk rock insisting on like specific instrument combinations or song structures. Punk rock is having an opera singer screaming things that's probably sexual in nature accompanied by a flutist and then have that fed through some gross distortion in a loop continuously until it's either fucking crazy awesome, or drives people fucking crazy - which is awesome.

I think what he means, which i totally adhere to - is that if it conforms to any sort of "orthodoxy".. It's not punk.. If you play "classic punk" or whatever - you're not playing punk at all. Punk doesn't adhere to specific styles and sounds - punk fucks those styles and sounds up.

@@mds1986ms FYI - Fiona has never done heroin in her life. You have a distorted image of her. She was raped at age 12 and developed anorexia as a teen in response to the trauma. That explains the look she had. But she overcame all that and has made an amazing career. This year in her 40's she put out one of the best albums of the whole year. She is one of the coolest, most honest artists I've ever seen! I've seen some of Starcrawlers videos and they are pretty good in my limited assessment of them.

these guys are so cool, Sebastian is a great man and many don’t know but a train enthusiast and has read all of the harry potter books. i also have it on good authority he’s currently recording an album, away from the rest of VBs as a chance to “spread my wings” and “see where the clouds take me” as Sebastian has stated in recent interviews. Allthough this first solo putting hasn’t been officially announced, it’s been rumored to have features from kool g rap, sierra ferrell and it was relayed to me that kid rock recently had taken a private flight to Stockholm to record with a “local artist” according to sources in the area. Thank you Viagra boys, and thank you Sebastian…. your words and freestyles are not only a voice of this generation, but the voice in our heads we all hear from when we open our eyes, till they close after a long day.

Thats a load of dooky. Punk aint dead and it still has a message. You got bands like noi!se, combat crisis, incendiary, the virus, night birds, riverboat gamblers, the zig zags... theyre all doing great work. I dont think punk died so much as people's love for punk died. Or maybe its just that good punk is only meant to be heard by a few no matter how loudly it gets played.

Hip hop is in the same state as when punk got “sold out”. What’s so punk about showing how much money you got, signing record deals worth millions, being played on commercials, every radio station and winning all awards? Hip hop is such a scattered genre nowadays. It’s the new pop, not the new punk.

I dont know where the fuck you guys are from but here in central and eastern Pennsylvania the punk and hardcore scene is live as fuck. "punk sold out" What they're just supposed to make a bunch of songs get reall popular then give the records away? No i get it they should press a truck load of vinyl and then... make furniture out of it and not sell it. Fuckin ding dongs. Rap or hip hop whatever they call that shit might have the same feel as punk did but thats just because the suburban white kids are taking it over just like what happened to punk.
