    I guess, Swedish people are also introverts, that's a really nice place for me, as I am also an introvert

    Such a great video!! 🎉 thank you! Also, this way of showing polite enthusiasm but not necessarily commitment to hanging out is so familiar to me! It's a personality thing for me, that is sometimes misunderstood in my country, I finally feel understood after these videos today! 😂 a Finnish friend talked about how introversion is more admired in the north, whereas extroversion is more admired and promoted in other cultures like America.. and so things like politely saying let's hang out means different things.. expressing general good will looks different, and also how quickly a friendship develops or how deep or how trustworthy you expect it to be after you get to know one another.. it's so fascinating seeing how that's reflected in the language! Thank you for the great and very funny explainations as always!

    Would it be fair to say that "Jag hör av mig till dig" sort of translates to "I'll get back to you" or "I'll be in touch"? When then extends to, can it also be used as a brush off, like "don't call me, I'll call you", basically meaning you will never hear from them?

    So do these reciprocal verbs eliminate the need to use "varandra" in the sentence? Are the uses interchangeable between "vi träffade varandra på..." and "vi träffades på..."?

  • @FunSwedish

    @FunSwedish

    9 ай бұрын

    Great question!! Yes, exactly. You can still say "vi träffade varandra på.." and that would be correct as well but you can also use the shorter version "vi träffades på" and by this eliminate the "varandra".
