Hi! I've been trying to read ABS codes from a cheap 5$ OBD2 reader but with no luck. Can you tell me if the Vgate adapter can read ABS codes? My car is a 2010 Lancer similar to yours. Thanks.

I don't have current code in the ABS Module to verify and it won't read the ABS itself. But I do have a P1773 code in the transmission related to the ABS, Vgate Read -> (P1773 LR/DIR solenoid) and XTOOL Read -> (P1773 ABS/ASC information). This code is very common in Mitsubishi when they age, I am still troubleshooting mine using the XTOOL to view live data, the details can be very long, most properly I will post a video about this soon.

Most likely you have a bad sensor or damaged magnet in the wheel hub or wiring problem, there are many other reasons but those are the most common, read the ABS code first, read the wheels sensors data, check the video I uploaded about the P1773, you will find all the codes in the description.

Sorry, I couldn't find a way to read what is the current FW ver. in the adapter, However I saw a new FW ver. on the website [4.1.10] which is newer than the one on this video [4.1.08] and you can use the same method for update. Even if you attempt to update the FW with the same ver. exist on the adapter it will accept it and will not display it is already updated. This is a basic low end adapter, they have higher models that can be known what is the current ver. and I believe it is not their priority. Anyway, I am not sure why you want to know the current ver. of the FW, if you are facing issues the device like it is not connecting to some cars, I did face this issue in troubleshooting a 2014 Mazda 3 for my friend, it will simply not communicate with the ECU, I am not sure why. This device is very basic in terms of reading codes and I am not using it anymore. I have switched to a better relatively cheap and advanced device from XTOOL (A30D) and it is much better, it does read all the modules, do some actuation test and other features, soon I will post a video about my experience with the device, if you are interested, stick around and soon when I record and post the video you can view it.
