Keeping up with the big boys. As if that's an accomplishment on a Viffer. Remember that bike has racing DNA . Superbike pedigree.

What's not to love?... Me, 1990 and 1991 VFR750F's. One has white "shoes", the other gold "shoes"... the girls are sweet! Was lucky to find a red tinted wind screen in the EU as we only had the clear ones here in the U.S. Left side Kerker exhaust, braided lines, bobbed rear fender, inboard turn and brake signals (they were not allowed in the U.S. when first sold), K&N air filter, jetted and worked carbs for even more lower end power and pull, rear set cowl, replaced the original "condom" rear view mirrors with the nice/clean next-gen mirrors. These VFR's are 30+ years old design and tech... they are truly timeless! Bullet proof V4, gear drive cams, nothing else sounds like them... and who doesn't love the Red?

I changed the hub bearings on my 2001 vfr as I thought they were making noise. 35,000 miles, afterwards I really don't think they needed changing. Had Michelin road pilot 5 tires and after they wear down half way they were making a noise as I see others say the same. OH well I now know my bearings are good. I put ABM straight bar on, very comfortable. Givi windscreen with x-tra on really good wind protection. 520 conversion chain 2 up rear sprocket really wakes her up. People say it's heavy, I've never felt it was once your rolling handles just fine. I could cruise 130 all gay and very stable.

Superb bikes aren't they.. I had to take thr hub out to get rid of all the gravel that stops the chain adjustment.. thought I would be as well changing the bearings at the same time.. straight bars sounds comfy and yeh found it quite light when riding. Cheers for your input bud 👍

I recognise that road climbing up outta Largs. Goes past that recycling centre where that numpty pulled out in front of me.🤦‍♂️ And you took the same route back to Kilwilling that we did, great little bit of road that B784, shame it's not longer. The old girl did good there didn't she.

Ah, the RC36 was a fine machine. The RC36II was even better. Basically the same machine, with smaller carbs, adjustable shocks in front and new plastic. Still it was a whole new puppy. Similar, but different. I had a red 90 RC36 and a turquoise 94 RC36II.

The VFR did well keeping up with those more modern bikes, glad she's running well with the new bearings. I'm not sure about the sound with the baffle out, as you say there doesn't seem to be a lot of difference. To me I think there's a roughness there that wasn't there before 🤔 Pleased your getting out, the weather's been pants here for nearly two weeks.

Crikey that first road was busy. Note to self you don't need backing musak with this bike, V4 can hold it's own singing solo. The baffle out with my Delkevic 350mm oval can makes the engine just sound freer and makes it sound marginally louder at idle and lower revs, but it's when you nail it you realise it is quite a bit louder without the baffle, but in a good way. Sometimes I ride with the baffle in sometimes out depends how I am feeling. I can't remember have you got std spec suspension on yours or did you treat it to an upgrade?

I`m nothing special as a rider. I have done somewhere over 1 million miles though so I`ve some idea what to do. Back in the mid 90`s to 04 I was a long distance courier based in the East Midlands. Although not the ideal courier bike I rode a VFR FG for something over 230,000 miles during the later years of my 1200 to 1500 miles per week average. Two things that stand out in my memory, it was all day comfortable. Occasionally I would do massive milage in a day, 600+ even in poor weather and my bike really was all day comfortable. The other thing that really stood out was just how easy it was to ride at any speed and made an average Joe like me seem like a bit of a track day hero. I`ve had and still ride more modern and more powerful bikes but I`d suggest a VFR doing a 400 mile ride cross country including urban and rural would still be hard to keep up with.

Looks like a great bike you got there. What year is yours? I'm dreaming about getting my license some day. Have an old VFR that I got after my dad passed away some years back. I guess it will take some effort getting it back on the road since it's been sitting for quite some time. White coloured Vfr 750,1986 model.

Inline-4 > V4 You can see that their extended rev range would GAP you by the way they pulled away as you hit max revs, they just didn't have the opportunity due to road conditions and being modest riders.
