Yeah not only the gen 6 man, all the VFR 800 sounds better. They did something with the engine for the VFR1200 it does not have that great V4 sound that the VFR800 and Tuono for example have which is a shame. Because this 1200 really moves, the VFR800 is really slow with its 100 hp on 240 kg weight :(

@@luuk341 Of course everything is different, two completely different engines, I never wrote anything about firing order since I do not know that much about different firing orders. And if the VFR1200 had the sound of the VFR 800 I would love it. The power from the 1200 is great. Would be awesome if they put the 1200 engine in the 800 bike, not that it would fit but anyways

  • @gwilliamwallace

Sounds lame compared to an Intrceptor perhaps due to the different firing order.

The only exhaust with an acceptable sound and eligible for the german market (our technical traffic department imposes strikt restrictions). Even competitors like Akrapovic sound like a tin can (for almost double the price).

This video doesn't do the DAM exhaust justice. Honestly, none of them do. My 1200 came with a two brothers slip on installed, and while it doesn't sound bad, it is nowhere near as good as the DAM exhaust that I replaced it with. The recording or playback audio on the videos takes a lot of the true sound away and really flattens it out.

It sounds weird because it has the outer two cylinders (1 and 4) in one bank and the inner two cylinders (2 and 3) on the other bank. For packaging purposes, narrower where the rider sits. Which makes the firing order more like an ordinary inline 4. VFR800 has a true V setup with the 1st and 3rd cylinders in one bank and 2nd and 4th cylinders in the other bank. It's basically the inner four cylinders of a cross-plane crank shaft V8 engine. That's why it has that sweet sweet rumble and the VFR1200 doesn't.
