Greg, Thanks for the tour of your new tool bag. I've never tried the screwdrivers and nut drivers you have. I always used (and liked) Xcelite. I also used genuine Vice Grip locking pliers, as well as Channel Lock pliers. When I did in-house service, I had a mechanics tool chest. For field service, I used the suitcase-type tool kit with the pallets with the pockets on them for tools. There was space in the bottom for testing equipment (meters, etc.). I never had to climb ladders, but I think my right arm was stretched a few inches longer from toting about 35 lbs of tools around! My truck had a service body and I kept spare parts in bins in the compartments on the truck. The truck also had a water-proof camper shell so I could carry spare vacuum pumps and drive motors and keep them from the elements. After the trucks got tired, they switched to vans and that was great! There were metal bins on both sides and on the rear doors for spare parts, etc. I had plastic bins with motors, vacuum pumps, "octal" pin relays, power relays, contactors, motor starters, etc. Sorry to ramble on so much. Thanks for the video. Personally, I would be interested in a showdown between different brands of screwdrivers, nut drivers, etc. Have a good one. Dave

My Vice Grips live in my van. Sometimes you need them for that pesky stripped screw or nut, but not one of my regular use tools. I have a set of Xcelite precision screwdrivers and electronics pliers and strippers for electronics work. We are currently in the process of switching from Ford E-150 and 250's to most likely the new Dodge vans. They are much more square letting the bins sit flush against the van sides and I can pretty much stand up in it. Plus they are advertised with the dealer outfitted Sortimo bins and shelves. We are going to try one out first and see how it goes and hopefully when my van is done with it's life I'll get one.

100 % guarantee that if you swith from your channel locks to knipex pump pliers aka channel locks you will not be disappointed.. they're self locking and made so you can't pinch your fingers hands down the best. I know people like what they like but knipex makes the best pump pliers

You should check out the Knipex Pliers Wrenches to replace your Adj crescent wrenches. All sizes of the Pliers Wrenches open much wider then the equivalent adj wrench! For example, My 7" pliers wrench opens a full 1/2' wider then the 7" adj wrench I have....Great video!

Good Vid! I definitely would like to see your videos on tool comparisons as well as all the HVAC vids you can throw at us! ~ Keep up the great work. I was interested in the comment you said you don't keep wire strippers in your bag. I have taken a lot of heat on videos where I did not use wire strippers but I have often felt more comfortable using my pliers and believed it more important to verify no wire strands were lost or the wire was not nicked. I guess you got me curious to hear your thoughts on wire strippers?
@Halligan142
10 жыл бұрын
Wire strippers only go to 10 AWG so anything beyond that you are using line-mans or a knife so there's no real difference. Like you said you just have to be sure you don't cut strands off when doing it. Your not really cutting directly through anyway. Just scoring the jacket and pushing it off the same way wire strippers do.

Still using the Tech-LC...? I'm thinking of going up to the LC from my MC bag, only concern is the weight - MC currently tips the scales at ~28lbs fully loaded...the LC is almost double the weight of the MC empty - might have to use that shoulder strap.
