If only the current POTUS had half the mental acuity of Mr. Kim.

Cut the interviewer some slack. He may be new to this and in the interest of detail and chronology is asking the question’s from notes just a a pilot might go through a procedural checklist to avoid overlooking things of importance. Also a interview is done in a totally different setting than a casual bullshit session. The subject May forget to mention things due to feeling put on the spot so to speak. My Uncles talked More of their combat experiences when in a casual setting. Those who have never experienced combat should be careful not to be judgemental or to second guess. Very often time constraints that may leave a subject feeling pressed can cause mental blocks and consequently omitted facts and stories . Jumping forward and then backward due to recall abilities can be just as confusing for listener’s as it is for the subject who will feel pressured and uncomfortable for not meeting the expectation’s of the interviewer and audience. A subject may feel inadequate or as having failed if after a interview , they recall a interesting story or fact that they did not mention. In conversation’s with My friends Relatives and now Son and Nephew bits and pieces here and there come together and like a draft of a script can latter be clarified and refined to become more understandable. A subject wanting to develop the character of a person in their story , their relationship etc. can risk being thought of as tangential and boring listener’s with short attention spans . A subjects enthusiasm for telling their stories can vary from one time to another. Participants in the same battle often just yards apart can have very different recollections of it.
