I bought a Vetran Sherman three months ago. My first wheel. So much fun! A little practice and now 40 mph .
I got the Sherman V2 as my first wheel against all recommendations and watching this video. About a year ago. The learning curve wasn’t bad. It came on a Sunday I was going off road on day two and in the NYC streets by Friday and I’m not really the recklessness type. I will say I TOTALLY get why it’s not recommended I wouldn’t really recommend it either, but I needed to future proof. That comes at a cost tho. Can’t say I regret it.
Great vid as usual, and tight of you to show the gentleman the ins and outs of his first Wheel man.
The most useful review. Especially the pedal angle adjustment from the on board computer. Now I want one!

Great video!!!
I've been watching the wheel reviews for the Sherman & the King Song S18. The tire on the Sherman is perfect. It has more surface area on the street & increases stability. That tire would be perfect on the King Song S18. I can't deal with a 70 lb. wheel. I have a torn rotator cuff on my right shoulder that I am foregoing surgery but still can't pick something this heavy up on a regular basis. I have been pondering the perishability of the plastic side panels on all wheels & have been thinking about how to redo it in aluminum or make flat rails that wrap around from the rail cage that is already there & also for your U Cage. But, sliders will do the job! Like for a sport bike. They protect the bike & fairings etc. I need them for my Ninja. Were the sliders that guy had homemade? I think they are generally made out of the hard urethane that rolkerblade & skateboard wheels are made of. I don't think the wheel manufacturers are doing their best job by making the wheels with outer shells like toys that cost hundreds of dollars & can be torn to pieces in a simple crash. They need to come up with more durable exoskeleton or roll cages or some type of protection. My Inmotion V5 looks like it will crack apart if it falls over. Not good for a $700+ purchase. I think the King Song S18 is my upgrade wheel once I learn to ride the Inmotion which is a work in progress. 🚧 Be safe. 👍☮️🌞

I’ve wanted a Onewheel for years now. Ever since it was a kickstarter. Got real serious about one a little under a month ago. Realized just how underperforming they are compared to euc’s and the reasons I actually want a “wheel” for it’s a no brainer now. Not even close anymore. This wheel here seems like the most serious wheel that is out. The frame is a no brainer and couldn’t t believe it hadn’t been thought of yet. The range and speed of this make it a no brainer. I agree with the first wheel thing though. It’s like a guy going out a getting a hyabusa and never riding a motorcycle. Knew a guy who did that and he died 20 mins after leaving the dealership. So. As much as I’d rather just get this wheel I understand working your way up. Now I just have to figure out what wheel to get before I move on to this or the newer version when it gets released.

The onewheel goes like 14mph max & gets like 14 miles per charge for the same price as an EUC.. I personally wouldn't even consider a one wheel, but im also not a skateboarder so.. I understand the skaters transition to boards to EUC'S
I dont get why people carry it up steps. My sherman does just fine being pushed up them. Just pull out the handle and push it against the steps. the tire will grip the steps and the autobalance along with your leverage will easily bring it up the steps. Maybe its just the camera angle, but ive pushed mine up steps larger than the ones he carried it up on just fine.
@arcrides6841
3 жыл бұрын
Yeah man after reading your comment I realized that there's a technique to that. If you do it just right you can roll it up real quick and easy. Much easier than carrying it up. But it takes a little practice to make it effortless. The trick is to give it a slight lift and push the moment you are about to hit the edge of each step. But only for that moment. So overall you don't do much work at all. But you need to do that lift/push precisely so that the tyre doesn't do a burnout and simply rolls up the step. It's easy once you get used to it. If you don't give it enough lift. It does a burnout. That's the key. So make sure to give it just enough of a lift. But no more than you need so you don't do extra work by lifting more than you need to.
Good for people with money and who are able to stand without getting severe knee and back pain.
When I see one of these, I always think of the BC Comics character Thor riding his stone wheel everywhere.

I'm 6'8" and 300 pounds. I have no problem throwing 100 pounds around and lifting it over my head. And I think I have to start on the Sherman bc of the 330 pound weight capacity. I'd like to save some money and start on something else... but I make good money and I feel the Sherman would be much better. I plan on buying one this spring/ summer. I feel like a lot of the gripes with new riders would not apply to me. Also strong legs and bottom heavy almost.
'Whoa! Watt Rides.. what an innovation.. . Great video and music so good , so banging I was jigging with excitment... PS the only thing I dislike about the Vet Sher is the rear light nonense.. should be more motorcycle like... not child toy-like....

Next thing you know they'll have Hell's Angels unicycle gangs!
This is for anybody that already has their sherman. Whenever I turn on my wheel it spins out out of control. I sent it in for repairs after they fixed the wires. It still does this. Am I doing something wrong when I power on the Sherman? Update: it was my fault trying to pick up the euc and freaking out. Do not pick it up and just lay it on its side to reset and hard stop. If you pick it up, it'll accelerate even more until it powers out. 2nd update: it took me a day to learn how to ride the wheel and balancing on it. I recommend going to the park with a huge open grass field and no dog turds. I had an amazing time learning and felt super sore. The breaking point was one morning when I decided to ride to work giving myself 2 hours for a 16 mile drive into the city. Glad I went at 4am because I fell into the sewer gutter hole a dozen of times and eventually learned how to control the wheel going slow. I haven't figured out how to safely ride fast yet but I'm solely working myself to getting to ride out on the road. The wrist guards are a lifesaver literally. Don't ever ride without safety gear folks!

@@UStride it did it the first time but once the wires were corrected it must have been fixed. I must have just had deja vu nightmares about the first time and instinctively picked it up once the wheel moved which caused the wheel to accelerate out of control. Once I placed it on its side and reset the wheel, I noticed the sherman balancing itself out and the controls to accelerate and decelerate worked perfectly. The guys at ewheels are awesome and helped me through this.

@@vtran1082 Strange
I am a heavier person and have read that I need a high torque / well cooled wheel to accommodate the extra load / heat generated on the wheel for me to go a medium speed. I have been thinking the Veteran Sherman would be a good wheel for me but I also have understood that a heavy wheel like the Sherman is very difficult to learn with for beginners because it is hard to control such weight. Do you have any suggestions? Would the RS be better for me? Looking for mostly street commuting, may run into a little gravel or cobblestones on occasion but not regularly. Washington DC has some hills.

When going up stairs, what if you carried a strap that would span between forward and rear handle, then leave the Sherman turned on, now let the Sherman climb the stair under its own power? TL&DR: "I did, but it was the wheel I would get eventually anyway... so pony up now." is my guess. It was for me. There are those that should absolutely adhere to what U-Stride and many others have asserted as it pertains to the Sherman being your first Wheel/Electric Unicycle. For those, may I suggest a MTen3? It has great performance, at a nice price point, and you aren't likely to kill yourself or others on it. Everyone who owns one loves them and state they're a great first Wheel. I totally listened to U-Stride (and any others I could find) prior to making my purchase of the Sherman as my first Wheel. His input did factor into my consideration. Some folks are cognizant of the potential ramifications to themselves and others, and have sound learning methodology they adhere too based off of prior experience (I've had a couple with biting it on motorcycles). The real main reasons for choosing the Sherman are: 1) It doesn't explode when you hit something as readily as other Wheels. 2) It is modular. 3) The power and range. 4) The Kenda knobby tire seemingly conveys a semblance of suspension, while not being an actual suspension Wheel. 5) It makes my geek nipples hard. I think U-Stride nailed it at the 8:24 mark in the review. kzread.info/dash/bejne/emh9l8-un7LNfrA.html and the joy in the gentleman's reaction as U-Stride was showing him the ropes, sums it all up for me. P.S. In fact, my wife is now all caught up in the game, and we have an MTen3 on order as well. I expect I will find a differing but just as valid joy on it as a Wheel and love it as much as my Sherman.
