I took ibogaine on August 9th, 2020 to kick a 10 year opiate habit. Haven't taken an opiate since. Changed my life. It actually "showed me" what I was doing to myself and my loved ones. It also reset my brain to a pre-addictive state. Almost no WD. No craving at all. Since then, I've lost 70 lbs. Started studying microbiology and learned to play the piano. I now workout 5 days a week and have a great relationship with my friends and family.

I just started IV ketamine therapy for PTSD one month ago. It has completely changed my life for the better. My dad committed suicide when I was 5. My mom started using drugs soon after and I watched her get sexually assaulted by two of her drug dealers. I was never ok again. This is the first time in my life that I am truly happy! Please do your research. My insurance covers 80% of my treatments! It’s the greatest gift I’ve ever been given!

Had a different experience with Ketamine injections after 3 years of therapy on it. Was great and life changing.. at first… but had to quit as it started causing more ptsd I didn’t even know I had. The constant K-holes will do the mind dirty over the course of time sadly, so quit while it’s working and find a way to alleviate the discomfort organically. 🙏🏼

Anyway, Ibogaine is not a recreational psychedelic by any means folks. It was and remains amazing how much it helped me. I went to the Iboga Wellness Center (not Ibogaine) clinic in Costa Rica for an 8 day retreat, 2 ceremonies, and I can tell you that Iboga is as real deal as it gets. Ayahuasca gets a lot of hype, but what many of those people are really looking for is Iboga. If you really want to heal, if you are really ready for a change, I can't recommend it highly enough. I've been thru an enormous amount of trauma, neglect, abuse, abandonment, C-PTSD and nothing ever came close to the healing and the clarity and the peace that Iboga brought me. I still microdose it today

I ended up taking suboxone again for pain because I could take a pinch of it and it works 1000% better than any opiate but I cannot imagine coming off suboxone again. You can buy it on the internet. Be extremely careful using it. Means try tiny dosage first, than work your way up. I had problems using it like "electric discharges" in my brain. The second time it made me extremely cold and ruthless. I did not cause any harm of course, but it was discomforting. There is a chance that it wasn't Ibogaine after all. But I don't know for sure. The taste was stinging, cutting, very intense. Large dose (like 10 doses) was 50 dollar, came from southafrica.

The thing with Iboga/Ibogaine that I learned is that it takes a day or two after the trip is over to integrate, and the healing becomes evident. What he describes is very common...the day after the ceremony feels maybe even worse than you did before you took it. Iboga shows you everything that is holding you back or hurting you, but it's showing you as it leaves. Iboga carries it out of your system. But it shows you what it's removing. Whether or not he did 5meo, he would still find great healing. In other words, it's not just a psychedelic trip where it shows you your stuff mentally, then it's over. No, it's cleaning house and you're seeing all the stuff it's loading up to take to the dump in a garbage truck. If you ever do this medicine, have faith it is helping you,, it's legit working on you like a doctor, give it a day or two before you assume you didn't need to see all your problems. You absolutely do need to see your problems, Ibogaine stays in your system for up to 6 months. The process is far from over even a week after your medicine journey. Have patience and trust

@@mrs_Mccoy my first thought is, be very very careful. Of ALL psychedelics or medicines, Iboga/Ibogaine is the number one that you dont want to play with. You want to make sure you are healthy first of all. And if you don't treat the medicine with utmost respect and humility, it can really be too much, and can take a long time to come back from. Once yoy take it, you don't want any distractions whatsoever. Lay down. Don't plan on moving except to the bathroom for hours. Look up Bwiti tribal music and have that playing. It's not LSD or mushrooms, it's nothing like anything else you've ever experienced at all so proceed with caution. I would really advise against messing with it unless you are really sure in your heart you are ready to heal

LSD and mushrooms completely changed my whole outlook on life. I became a better version of myself This experience gave me a lot of confidence about my self and my body. A bunch of bad thought / behavior patterns were broken. One of these was pretty bad OCD that made me wash my hands a lot. It gave me a lot of hope that things will be fine, this is the one thing that I heard throughout the trip: Everything is alright. The main reason for the trip was my severe depression and it definitely helped me (although it's not gone). Before all I could do was lay in bed. Now I am trying to rebuild my life one step at a time which wasn't possible before."

And yes, Iboga makes you face all of your demons and all of your ego within yourself that has remain unfaced. It is you having to face yourself. It can be incredibly painful, but guess what, that’s exactly what is needed in order to heal. When you finally see what you’ve been identified with, everything you’ve been identified with that has been in authentic to you, you are set FREE. Make no mistake about it, that is the only way to heal. To face what you need to face within yourself, to see it in awareness. It is both incredibly painful, and when you’re on the other side, the absolute best and most amazing experience of bliss you will ever have. But this guy is American. He went to Mexico. It is relatively expensive financially, but absolutely fucking priceless when PTSD is threatening your life. Literally no amount of money is worth your life, so sure, America has horrible fucking drug policies, but going to Mexico I'd completely affordable to most Americans. It's often cheaper than flying interstate, heck I've flown to Paris for $150 each way, while Los Angeles the same year was $330 each way. It is on our continent, we can attain it, actually much more easily than the VAST majority of medical treatments out there. Most cancer or MS or Parkinsons treatments are financially out of reach to most people who need them, diabetes, heart disease, and above all mental health as often people don't get treatment even when it's too late, as there is stigma. It sucks this sort of stuff was illegal stateside originally, however Ketamine therapy is being given, psilocybin therapy is being given, all manner of things are being given now legally in the US & Canada; I believe that by 2040 Ibogaine therapy will have absolutely been used, likely regularly used, within the US & Canada, there's no doubt in my mind of that.

Just an FYI to other vets, not everyone gets better with ibogaine sessions. I did the same deal with a program for vets and first responders. I completely lost my shit and panicked and then raged as a result of my lack of ability to control and had to be held down by three guys. I felt pretty shitty the next day and refused the next session. Everybody was understanding but all it did was add embarrassment to my list of problems and not much positive I gained from it. Pretty sure I scared the shit out of everyone there. I got the VA to pay for a therapy provider outside of the VA to help me and it’s been productive for me. I’m not saying don’t try ibogaine sessions, everyone is different, I’m just saying it’s not for everyone and to be careful if you have heavy PTSD because it’s gonna take you to suppressed emotions forsure.

Some of my closest friends all sought help and committed to it. They have amazing families and children. Stable. Some stay in therapy and still work on things as life is always changing, and you need support to work through things as they come. Couples therapy too, vital. Not everyone chooses that path. The other side can be very dark. Traumatizing for the families too. I guess being in a relationship or marriage again, would be 100% based on how that person chose to live his life. And if I could. Cause it truly becomes secondary ptsd for families. Might be super triggering for me. IDK. But I know I fought, I hope other loved ones fight too. Don’t give up. There can be hope. Hopefully this can help some people who struggle with PTSD. Ego dissolution can be one way but I do think it can have some pitfalls if the "set and setting" aren't right. I used to provide Prolonged Exposure therapy for veterans returning from combat. It's a very specific way to confront avoidance which is the very key coping strategy that maintains and worsens PTSD. It's like a closet that starts to get too full, eventually it starts to get more difficult to close and the trauma starts to distort and spill over into daily life. By doing PE as a specific treatment, it really reorganizes the structures negatively impacted by PTSD. Imagine returning to civilian life and getting flashbacks of one's tour overseas when seeing dirt rise when driving slowly through construction. It's a common occurrence. The therapy combined with some 'in vivo' or exercises in practice confronting the roadblocks helps resolve not only the main trauma, but also other traumas and things avoided. Typical progression of PTSD ends up being debilitating in that people will only shop very late at night or early AM, constantly scan surroundings by sitting at perimeters, viewing through windows who is walking behind and other things that can worsen to the point of not leaving the home. Many people right now are facing these challenges due to the state of the world. I don't subscribe to a single modality to fix anything. Ego dissolution is good for sure but Ego doesn't dissolve EVER. It's an important point. Ego is healthy. Ego will protect to some degree traumas. It's a balance and honestly the right clinician and assessment is key to helping resolve any psychological issues. I encourage any veteran to utilize the resources at the VA to get PTSD treatment and other services including service connections. One just needs a DD-214 and you can get the ball rolling. Thanks to any service members reading this or anyone really. As the saying goes....tough times don't last tough people do.

Personally I’ve delt with hell like I don’t think anyone in the world has or even has come close. But I believe that what Joe does, is speaks to a point of view that we all carry. And that’s a sense of compassion. The man watches folks beat the piss out of each other and understands the therapeuty behind it. As do the fighters. I personally have never been able to hold a real fist to someone. Idk why but I just can’t… I guess I respect joes point of view. Congrats brother for reaching such a level in life. I wish I had the confidence to do the same.

I had a friend in NA, a heroin addict. He went to Mexico and did the ibogaine treatment that's supposed to "cure" addiction. He said he felt great afterwards but he ended up relapsing like 3 days later. He passed away a couple years ago. I'm sure it helps with a lot of things but for fellow heroin addicts out there it's not a solution. I've been clean for almost 5 years and it's just because I wanted it and I did it for myself. Sometimes I feel like I just grew out of it and wanted better things for myself.

Anyone offering ANY "cure" to addiction or Mental Illness is straight up deceiving, lying or not telling the whole truth. No Physician is *ever* going to spout anything about Mental Health "cures". Only people who don't know how medicine works would say something like that, as you've pointed out, this is incredibly dangerous. In fact, the second you hear the word Cure, run for the hills.

I suffer from severe combat PTSD. I've even got in trouble with Law Enforcement over it when I threatened to kill a infectious disease doctor at the VA for misdiagnosis of an illnesses of Bartonella and Q fever. I also went after a drug dealer that poisoned my son and beat him half to death. The judge and the State of Texas said I had severe combat PTSD too. I just don't know if this is for me, but I'm interested in doing something. My ups and downs are just to much sometimes.

@@Ashley_e .... Yes, they finally did, but I went outside the VA to our family doctor, and he sent me to a specialist in San Antonio. I took the ELISA test to the VA, and they finally documented it and treated me with Doxycycline for 2 months. The Infectious disease doctor at the VA originally said I had a false positive and this was why I went outside the VA for a second opinion. Later when I was sent back to the infectious disease doctor, he started giving me shit when I said he could have killed me. So, I shoved him against his desk and told him I'd kill him because he almost killed me. He said he was calling the police and I told him that they would only get there in time to draw a chalk line around his body. With Bartonella it can cause a lot of mental illness if not caught in time. It will literally drive you crazy. They wrote a song about it. Similar to Lyme, it causes a rage and anger as well as confusion. I think I had it for too long though and developed reoccurring or relapsing fever. I still seem to suffer long term effects. Thanks for asking though.

I've always found it interesting that these altered states show people remarkably close visual/emotional experiences. When he described the "whiteness" of the DMT trip... thats exactly the words I had when returning. That it was a celestial white that couldn't be described. Followed by explosions of crystal like rainbow patterns that gave way to a visit from a set of long fingered "hands" that wrapped themselves around my visual field as I was floating in this brightness. The fingers had endless eyes embedded in them and all I could feel was warmth and love on a level never before. Not terrifying in any way. Hard to explain. When you describe that to someone who hasn't ever had these experiences they usually say "thats terrifying" or "that sounds horrible". Which makes you sad that they can't know and feel what you saw for what it truly was.

I'm glad this worked for him and other veterans, but let me present another perspective: A high dose mushroom trip absolutely destroyed my life and gave me horrifying anxiety, ptsd, destroyed my ability to have interests or feel comfort in even the smallest way. Went from a life of being happy and joyful everyday to wanting to die every single moment for the last 8 months. I used to lift weights 5 days a week, work as a professional musician, love nature. Now I lay on the couch, crying and screamingg everyday like I'm trapped in a coffin of reality. Everything feels like an actual dream/nightmare that you can't wake up from. It's a hell I wouldn't wish on anyone. There was no prior trauma to be "healed", it was done in the perfect "set and setting" etc, the trip itself wasn't even bad/scary...but near the end something horrible switched in my brain and my connection to my life was gone. I also immediately developed muscle spasms over my entire body that randomly go off 24 hours a day. Let's recognize the fact that we have no idea what these substances are actually doing and they have the power to destroy as well as improve things..and we don't have control over which direction things go despite all the "harm reduction" garbage the psychedelic community likes to spout. In this case, what would have happened if the dmt didn't have the effect of "bringing it all together"? It seems like if he just had the Ibogaine experience, he may have ended up in a even worse hell than he was initially, even if it "showed him what he needed to see" and all this other stuff that people like to say. Why did the dmt help? Is it because it's "sacred medicine" or because of serotegenic effects and other neurotransmitter/neurological activity that we don't understand at all. When you look at the trip reports from around the internet (reddit, psychedelic forums), there are an alarming number of cases where people talk about becoming suicidal during their trips or feeling like they need to die. Luckily, those feelings tend to reverse and they come out feeling normal. Sometimes those feelings don't reverse. I'm just one of the people suffering through that hell. I've seem doctors, tried meds, ketamine therapy, a "healer", therapy, etc. In addition to praising the benefits of these plants, we should also be trying to understand why they are causing people to also have these horrifying thoughts and feelings. Unfortunately, when something goes wrong, the community tends to immediately blame the person.."you weren't ready, the plant showed you what you needed to see, you were in the wrong set/setting". Please, we need to move away from this bullshit. Blame the "medicine" when things go horribly wrong and then figure out why using science/neurology etc. We are lacking heavily in any kind of research on the negative aspects of these compounds. There may be some mystical/esoteric things happening, but there are also ridiculously intense things happening to the brain and it's a diservice to not understand why and pretend these drugs always solve problems when they also create problems. Let's look at these plants rationally and not act like they are sacred magic that solves all problems.

Comparing psilocybin to ibogaine is apples and oranges. just isn't in the same realm. They are nowhere near comparable. Completely different experiences. When you take Ibogaine... You don't sit up or walk around and function... Trust me it's not possible... That's why I laughed that it's a schedule 1 drug.... No one would ever be like let's pop a flood dose of ibogaine and go party or go to a festival. When you take a flood dose you lay your ass down with blinders on and some good music that takes you through a journey and is designed to take your mind to different levels... You are still awake but are in a lucid dream. When you close your eyes and the blinders are on a movie just plays on the back of your eyelids. It's like a Year's worth of therapy and Awakening in 12 hours. 2 hours into my flood dose I had to pee because they have an IV hooked up to you. Bro I took my blinders off and just saw the fibers of the universe little red lines vibrating. I was like yeah there's no way in hell I'm making it to the bathroom... I couldn't even pee in the bedpan.... I was just like fuck it put my blinders and headphones back on. 😂

What kind of shrooms are we talking here? And what is a high dose for you? Have you taken MDMA? I've taken hundreds of powerful trips on every kind of hallucinogen imaginable. The only experience similar to what you described happened when I didn't take enough, I actually hallucinated for months seeing fractals and thinking about suicide/death. It wasn't all bad but it was pretty bad. The only thing that made it stop was ironically taking far more acid than I had the previous time, something in the realm of 5 to 10 times more than i had for the "bad trip". Ever since then I've had no problems with psychedelics. Sometimes you need to process the darkness.
