Today the next test of the Vespa Gts 500 La Mutata with a speed comparison with the Vespa Gts 300 hpe.

We tested the acceleration from 0-100 km / h and the pulling behavior from 80-120 km / h. The result of the speed test was quite clear.

    6500 rpm at 120 km/h... this is what Piaggio Group should 've done a long time ago (I'm yelling right now...). Marc and Bjorn : you did what no one else 's done before. Show this video to the guys in Pontedera please.. Very nice video!

    Whow die GTS hält trotz niedrierem Hubraum erstaunlicherweise gut mit. Klar die Mutata ist eine eigene Klasse für sich. Der Beitrag ist einfach Klasse.

    Ich mag ja mit meiner Meinung alleine stehen... Aber von 39ps hätte ich mehr erwartet. Im relevanten Bereich bis 70 oder 80 km/h finde ich den Unterschied zu gering um über so einen Umbau nachzudenken. Denn was das Teil auf der Autobahn mehr kann ist meines Erachtens absolut vernachlässigbar. Aber jedem das Seine

    Hat mich nicht gewundert das es bis 60kmh knapp aussieht, da die 500er mit der serien Vario Abstimmung in dem Bereich weit weg von der Leistungsdrehzahl fahrt. Auf der AB konnte man das Potenzial erahnen. Schönes Video👍

    I just wonder how the bigger engine affects fuel consumption, just from the point of view of touring where the extra power would obviously be an advantage. Excellent vid, thanks for posting!

    The fuel consumption of the MP3 500 engine is between 3,7 and 4,8 liters/100 km.

    Hello. How does this Vespa cope on high speed I mean above 140-150km? I have a Gts300 Malossi full kit and when I reach 150on tacho it seems it can’t go much faster with safety. The whole frame wobbles and of course you can’t put the bike in any angle for cornering. So I was wondering how this feels with yours that can reach even 180 on certain situations. Have you done any mods to give strength to frame ? How much does the slightly longer wheelbase help. Thanks

    Hi, the longer wheelbase and the 13 inch wheels help a lot to keep the Vespa more stable. There are no mods on the frame. I think 160 km will be the max you can go on a Vespa Gts

    Der Antritt ist leider nicht besonders beeindruckend. Kaum Unterschied. Könnte man das noch verbessern? Könnte man vielleicht den Motor auch noch leistungsfähiger machen? Würde gerne man eine Vespa mit unter 5 Sekunden auf Hundert sehen. Der Hubraum müsste es ja hergeben.

    Der Verbrauch des MP3 500 Motors liegt so bei ca. 4- 4,5 L

    Irgendwie reizvoll aber ich muss auch sagen das ich mit der 300er zufrieden bin Man kauft sich ja keinen Roller um damit der schnellste zu sein Ich könnte mir auch vorstellen das man mit sowas schnell bei ca 7500 Euro liegt wenn Vespa sowas mal bauen sollte

    Just put a chiptune and malossi variator on the gts and its same speed.... lots of work for nothin in my oppinion

    Nice video! Possiedo vespa 300 gts super sport 2012 e3 e gia va piu forte di e4 ma penso che molti possessori di gts 300 facciano mototurismo e servirebbe qualche cavallo in piu per affrontare autostrade in soupless almeno con motore a 80% senza rovinarlo. È vero che c'è il beverly 400, mp3 500 ecc., ma la vespa è la vespa. Vorrei fare mototurismo con la vespa senza essere sempre full gas. Il motore a bassi e medi regimi è eccezionale,fin troppo brioso, ma fuori dalla città soffre troppo.

    Sarebbe interessante fare una cubatura 300cc piena con stessa coppia ma 500 giri in piu da sfruttare in autostrada. La ciclistica 10 orari in piu li regge senza problemi, anche i freni. Con una mappatura piu spinta anche l'attuale 300 può dare molto. Se lo fa honda con sh, perché piaggio non lo fa con vespa? Avevano anche il 350 in casa piaggio da cui attingere.

    Non spenderei mai 6000 euro per un 300hpe nuovo per avere solo 2,8cv in piu in accelerazione che già è piu che sufficente, ma autolimitata elettronicamente a 130. Questo ha senso solo per avere un omologazione euro5 ma non dal punto di vista prestazionale. La mia gts 300 euro3 del 2012 arriva a 134 effettivi con parabrezza medio e bauletto originale vespa.

    Hi, the Vespa Gts 500 is not modified concerning the frame strength. I think 150-160 is the max you can go with a Vespa. For higher speeds the longer wheelbase and the 13 inch wheels help a lot, much more stable. Cheers Marc

    @@ijean2478 hi. You get noticeable more power but most important was the cylinder head or Malossi which fixed the small valves problem of the oem head. Together the head and the cylinder make the scooter a jog to ride.

    @@alexleier So the cilinder plus head gives a good amount of extra power? since its only like 20ccm more? right? i would like to make my vespa wheelie easily. its a 21 HPE I want to add the malossi multi var, I have a akra exhaust already, and maybe I also want to add a malossie clutch. Than later if the price souts me I could maybe do the cylinder plus head not sure yet bc its close to 600 I think?

    @@ijean2478 to my experience I’ve tried everything available for that Vespa would suggest. Cylinder and head and then dr.pulley sliders on the standard variator. That way you have much extra power and really good life of variator and belts. Malossi will ask for rollers every 6.000-8000km if you ride fast same polini and j.Costa evo 3 was significantly producing more power or better transferring it to the wheel better but lasted only 1500km then the fingers it has for rollers broke. Clutch will make almost no difference and also the Malossi fueling chip made no significant difference and you couldn’t tell if it’s installed or not. I also had Malossi air filter but I wouldn’t put it again cause it’s to thin and allows dust to get in the engine. What you must be careful is engine oil. Use a good oil and don’t leave it more than 4.000km. I made lots and lots of km with that engine and I had lots of fun. Almost 100.000km. It did wheelies very very easy. But after 60.000km oil burning was increasing. I would use 500mm in 1000km sometimes. That’s also cause of the air filter as I told you and ok what you expect from a 300cc engine that is pushed to the limit for so long. Now I have an sh350 Honda and I’m really happy so far
