Very Scenic Oregon Trunk Drone Chase BNSF Grain Train 6/10/2018

This is my favorite sequence of a chase to film.
A BNSF grainer is seen in numerous locations throughout the Oregon Trunk line between Tunnel 2 in the Deschutes River Canyon and the Crooked River Gorge North of Redmond.
Locations are:
-Deschutes River Canyon/ Tunnel 2
-Trout Creek Ranch
-Tunnel 5
-Madras
-Crooked River Gorge
A bit longer video but it really shows off some of the best spots on this line. It's in my top 3 no question.
All footage taken from a DJI Phantom 4
Music by If These Trees Could Talk and all rights are reserved to If These Trees Could Talk. I do not claim to own any rights and give If These Trees Could Talk full credit as such.

What is it about railroads that makes them so acceptable in nature? Even non railfans will usually see beauty in this pairing of technology with the landscape. Like a magnificent bridge across a pristine canyon, the two forms of beauty just seem to compliment each other.

Railroading is still the coolest form of transportation to watch. This video is a perfect example of that. Railroads move freight by far and away cheaper than any other form of transportation. Regarding passengers, yes airlines are the fastest and are cheaper than trains. With passenger trains however, the trip is the highlight of your vacation. The views are breathtaking, and best of all you can sit down with family and friends and enjoy a nice meal at the same time. Great video.

I''ve poked around the OT here and there over the years, including the old line near Madras. But I just wanted to thank you for this and the Washy Line sequence, you've shown me spots that I had no idea existed and I'm honestly disappointed they haven't been photographed by others, at least not to my knowledge. Keep opening those horizons.

I loved the Trunk. The Canyon along the Deschutes on the North end is my favorite piece of railroad anywhere. I know what part of the Washy you're talking about too and that is some extremely rugged terrain! The Pacific Northwest has some absolute fascinating pieces of railroading. I captured some more scenes from the OT about a month ago that I'll be putting up in the next video or two hopefully within a few weeks.

I'm sure my KZread algorithm will pop it right up. You're right about the PNW keeping a lot of "fascinating" secrets. For example, I learned about the Trinidad Loop while riding a gondola at four in the morning. That was before Google Earth, of course. So I'm happy to see droners such as you and Scott Hiddleston putting in the time and effort for this stuff, AND getting great footage.
