Very rusty old knife restoration. This old rusty knife was found in the woods. The knife was very rusty and damaged. I decided to restore it. I removed the rust and made a new handle. Many people say my restoration videos are fake. But all the rusty objects were found in the ground and lay underground for tens or hundreds of years. I hope you liked my restoration.

Не знаю, хтось пише що не достатньо відновлене, але як на мене, саме таке воно й має бути. Зробити на основі старого леза цілком новий ніж - не проблема. А от зберегти автентичність… Це як зі старими кораблями, якщо в них замінити всі дошки, чи залишатся вони такими ж старовиними? Ось ці пошкодження металу, якраз й роблять цей ніж старовиним

Як завжди все супер. Люблю твої пошуки, але реставрацію найбільш. І за те що намагаєшся залишити автентичність предмету. Гарних знахідок під котуху - для реставрації, та мішка два капенів. 😊

I disagree. There's no point in making the blade look like new. Restoration is also about preserving the historic context of the item and the damages of the blade serve that purpose. It also looks beautiful imo.

why do they always add the bluing? it ruins the look

Possibly the blade is/was too thin to begin with? That'd be my thought about it!

@@geraldstamour1312Fixing craters usually involves removing more material around them or filling it in with something that isn't metal, both of which decrease the quality of it. Alternatively, you could weld material on, but that warps the metal and can ruin the temperament. So yea I'd actually say it's best to keep the craters in this case
