The sad thing about Vietnam was the way so many Soldiers were treated when they came home. My Father was retired Air Force and served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. My oldest Brother served during Vietnam. Lucklt niether were sent to war. My Brother was sent to England

Love this song. It does make me cry though. It was a brutal war. There were so many ways the Vietcong fought that were never done before. They were sadistic according to my late husband and brother. I feel my husband with me whenever I need him. It's been 11 years.

I feel for your husband and brother. The war (and all war) is brutal on everyone. Might not support their politics, but the Vietcong were fighting for their homeland. As for tactics not tried before, we're the only country to ever drop nuclear weapons on a population, and we did it twice decades earlier. There's a lot of atrocity, heartbreak and reflection to go around. War is brutal, full stop.

Dang it I just missed you. It's almost midnight here. I'm thinking it's 6 or 7 am there. So howdy and good morning to you. Love you accent. Not making a pass. I had an Aunt that was from England. I don't know if the UK and England are the same or different areas. My world geography is rusty I apologize. Love your reactions. You love country... I recommend Patsy Cline, George Jones, all the Outllaws from the 70s. And 90s country definetly. Well you get my drift. Lol God Bless

I like this song a lot because it reminds me of my own moment with my old beat up truck, I named it Bob. Always felt like someone was riding with me. Fell asleep one night driving home on a winding road. I swear I heard someone shout to wake up and I was still on the road thank the gods.

My brother-in-law was shot by friendly fire in Vietnam. He says even though he has had problems ever since then from his injuries it was the luckiest thing that ever happened to him. He was only in Vietnam 18 days when he was shot and he says he doesn’t think he killed anyone while there (my brother-in-law was a great shot). So yes he has physical problems but he has never suffered from flashbacks or PTSD so mentally very lucky.

My brother in law was in Vietnam War. He went in 1966, right out of school. He did come home, but died at 47 from cancer. The family was given $250 to help bury him. The government can give people that don't belong here money food, houses, but they won't bury their dead. So disgraceful.
