What I don't understand is how can Sadhguru be sensitive to eggs but not sensitive to industrial dairy farming with all the horrors and torture cows undergo to produce the milk we all drink. That is my only criticism, other than that, thank you for all the wisdom shared Sadhguru!

There's nothing wrong with either. Eating egg is like eating placenta from an egg that never fertilized. You are not harming life. Milking a goat or cow is not violent or against the animal when handled with care in your backyard. The real problem is the factory farms.

I live on a farm and we keep a chicken coop and we keep roosters as well. Very few of the eggs that come out daily from a healthy chicken will be fertilized even if you have sufficient roosters. I understand what this spiritual teacher is trying to say, and I am a vegetarian for 14 years, but I allow myself to eat eggs because I grow them myself and my chickens are weltered and some of them do get fertilized and most of them do not. The truth of an unfertilized egg is that if you as a human being do not eat it something else will come in and eat it. It will either be one of the weasels we have here in the rainforest or a small dog or even a snake. Something is going to eat that unfertilized egg. It is really not necessary for us to worry so much about what we eat at down to this level. I would say that taking the life of a fully grown mammal like a pig or a cow is wrong. I don't do that. But taking it to the level of eggs is also wrong. It enters into the area of the puritanical.

Sadhguru is not correct in everything he speaks. He is wrong about water. Most humans are dehydrated. I suppose people don't eat a fifth of the fruit perhaps he does. Barbara O'Neill is an excellent teacher on food. She did say if you eat eggs, make them organic. We need water and sea salt. Throw away all white table salt It is poison, it raises blood pressure. I agree we shouldn't be eating animals. The bible has to say, kill and eat (animals). All the world is a stage and we the players. That sure as hell is truth.

Another consideration- we have free ranging hens & roosters, so naturally the eggs get fertilized, BUT not all of those are destined to become chickens because in order for that to happen naturally, a mother hen must be broody & want to hatch out a clutch of eggs. This doesn’t happen daily, some hens never want to stay in the nest for 21 days. Because of this, I do believe nature intended those eggs to be food for others. Animals or people, both.

Each of us has to decide for ourselves what and how much to eat after watching how our body behaves after eating a certain thing. What can safely pass through the body and make a safe and smooth exit from the rear end is fine. As for veg/non veg, both are life. The foods we eat, be it meat, egg, fruits or vegetables, all contain harmful substances these days. So simply eat, and eat organic to the extent possible. Yes, if you eat with a certain reverance to nature that has provided you with the food in front of you, it will surely help.

@@razonyespiritu Well, all creations are different in certain or more ways. It has been scientifically proven that plants too are not happy when they are mutilated. They send distress signals to other nearby plants warning them of the approaching danger. So they do feel some pain but may not be the same way as we do. Humans were originally meat eaters but later due to non-availability of sufficient meat in certain areas, they started to eat vegetation. Gradually their bodies went through internal changes and they could now digest both meat and vegetation. If you look at nature, you will find creatures that eat only vegetation, those that eat only meat and those that eat both. If you ask a lion to survive on vegetation, it will die. If you give meat to a cow, it will not eat. There are exceptions, of course.

Todays bio or Eco food is often just by name ... Gates invested in bio avocadoes which do not go bad so fast ... but is it ok for us? same as with a lot of chemistry put or to our soil or on plants directly (apart from GMO) ... we need to think for ourselves and not to allow whem slowly giving some info here or there and thinking ow This is my decision based of so called facts. He said "If you eat it then see how its life and not just food and if you want to perceive beyond certain things then you need to eat different things".. He never talked about bad or good and also he never talked about eating less eggs cause you're wasting. That might be true but its totally not what this was about. Its not that hard so come on.. I mean He literally says one thing and everybody hears something different apparently.. weird.

Over the years, there have been significant changes in how eggs are produced, and I believe it's essential to raise awareness about the potential implications. One of the issues I would like to address is the use of artificial methods to accelerate chicken growth and egg production. It has come to my attention that some eggs are being injected to expedite the process, resulting in chickens reaching maturity faster. While this may increase egg supply to meet the demands of a growing population, it raises questions about the long-term effects on both the birds' welfare and the quality of the eggs they produce. Furthermore, I have learned that a considerable number of eggs are treated with antibiotics. Although antibiotics play a crucial role in combating diseases and ensuring the health of the birds, excessive usage might lead to the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, which poses a significant threat to public health. In comparison to the old days when people raised hens with natural energy and care, the modern egg production process seems to have shifted towards a more industrialized approach. This change has brought about concerns regarding the possible presence of various chemicals and additives in the eggs that were not prevalent in the past. I strongly believe that we need to encourage sustainable and ethical practices in egg production to ensure the well-being of the animals involved and to provide consumers with healthier and safer products. Supporting local and organic farms that prioritize animal welfare and use fewer chemicals can be a step in the right direction. As consumers, we have the power to demand transparency and responsible practices from the egg industry. By raising awareness about these issues and making informed choices about the products we buy, we can help promote positive change in the industry. Thank you for taking the time to read this message. I believe that together, we can make a difference and contribute to a more sustainable and ethical food system. We all think there is 3gms of protein but more than that lot of chemicals been injected.

I’d been mostly vegetarian for 25 years of my life on this earth. Every day i would eat seasonal fruit in the morning, salads , legumes , soups and vegetables for lunch and dinner and occasionally some fish ! I always tried to get the freshest foods from the markets here in the Netherlands and i am regularly active. I was never overweight. I’ve never felt worst than eating this way . My body was constantly super heavy and i was always feeling super tired and drained by lunch time every single day since i can remember. Everyday I’ve felt like fainting at least 2 times. Always felt super bloated no matter what i ate till the point that sometimes i couldn’t stand it. At 15 and 21 i got sick with two chronically autoimmune diseases and had to go through surgery twice . I was never overweight and I always thought i was eating so healthy. My mom kept telling me my whole life to eat meat but i never even consider it cause i didnt like the taste, smell or texture. I tried everything to fix my stomach and body and including meat in my diet was the only thing left. I stopped eating fruit , highly reduced the amount of vegetables and started only eating olive oil , fish, meat ,eggs and a bit of dairy (butter mostly and yogurt) . In the first month of eating this way , for the first time in my life, i experienced what feeling good in my own body meant. I’ve never felt lighter and the bloatness , gass and heaviness completely disappeared. One of my chronical conditions is slowly going away. My energy has never been higher and my mood and focus has highly improved. Everyone is so different and there is not one general way for everyone. Everyone will always have something to say but in the end Always listen to your body and it’s needs and eat according to that. Hope it helps someone 🫶🏻

It is true that unfertilised eggs won’t develop into a chicken, but the point is : to get a supply of such eggs, a large number of birds go through an ordeal . From being caged for life, to receive fattening medicines, unnatural food etc. if you watch poultry farms operations closely, often time male chicks which just hatched often processed alive as they are made into minced chicken feed. So at least we should be grateful to the beings which go through hell to arrive on our plate.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Sadhguru and see Him as inseperable from Shiva / Adi Buddha. However, this is the only thing where....well....it's not that I am in disagreement and He needs to say what He said about eggs....but it's important to understand that this teaching is Sutra, not Tantra. Nothing suffers because we ate an unfertilized egg and if an egg is intentionally unfertilized, still nothing suffers and just because a bird was not born....well...it really makes no difference in the epic vastness of Creation and if we have too many chickens etc then maybe they will suffer due to lack of food and so on. I only eat meat when my body needs......which is not often. Eggs I have no issue with.

Sadhguru owned a poultry farm before he entered the spiritual realm. He must have sold thousands of eggs. He knows and understands that every egg is a potential bird, only after becoming a Sadhguru. Freshly laid eggs do not contain a chick; only fertilized eggs properly incubated for 21 days under proper conditions will become a bird. Eat eggs; they are brain food and provide protein, and the yolk provides many great nutrients, heme iron, B12, Lecithin, etc. Digesting a boiled egg is easier than a boiled potato (generally carbs), and both move out of your system simultaneously.

We eat, as vegetarians, life all day, plants are also Life......as Sadhguru advises often, eat life foods......! Eggs are superfoods and a great source for our bodies to flourish, consume Organic Pasture eggs only, in that case, the eggs come from free-range chickens and are fed with organic natural foods. Fish is another issue, we need Omega 3 essential fatty acids. I think a diet existing of 80% vegetarian sources and 20% fish, shellfish, and eggs is a well-balanced diet.

it makes me always wonder how one does eat with this strategy? Our ancestors were hunters, gatherers that lived from land that was dried (fruit, meat) or hunted even over winter. vegetables, fruits are seasonal stuff that can be eaten summer-autumn. how do you survive on this stuff?

Well, most of the videos on youtube or just short clips of longer sessions, so information reached to you is incomplete. Thing is ur ancestors and all they hunted and ate non veg, for them it is fine coz their level of physical activity is very very high, so they are able to digest non veg better. Its not same for us in modern day, our daily physical activity is very very low. U can still eat non veg nothing serious gonna happen. He is just telling its better you eat veg, since it will go better with our system

So I put cooked meat + fruit and the average time is about as much as vegetables. Jk I’ve been vegetarian and it does not allow me to sustain myself given my goals. I don’t think you have to be a strict vegetarian in order to be healthy or spiritually enlightened.

This video will be liked by most vegan ppl in India. Consider the poor young population ..egg is so nutritious. YES it is source of essential animal protein, without killing an animal. And YES, it is not a living thing. NO, NOT. Even if you hatch any random poltry egg, no animal will born, no matter how hard you try😂. Beside this, I like Sadguru's suggestions on case to case basis,🙏

It’s like saying next time you see a seed or a grain don’t eat it coz if you plant it it would grow into a tree or plant and bear leaves, fruits and vegetables

B.S. science with very very very extensive tests has confirmed the body does best on a carnivore diet (Doesn't matter how long your digestive system is); yah, it's not elementary.

Everything is living. Who's to say that the carrot, potatoes or lettuce we eat doesn't experience death. It's not alive like an animal but everything has life. We human are in that chain of consumption. Everything is consumed by something else. Look deep into that statement. Even rock can be broken down into minerals. So. Don't fret. Eat an egg. Bless the life you are sustained with from whatever you consume. Be grateful for being a part of life.
