I love king too. Though I know his chain throws and classic combos very well,I have to work on his aerial combos to become a better player.

I typically learn to box before learning throws, get's me used to the character regularly rather than relying on throws the whole time. Great advise honestly

This is how I like to play. Im not sure if I should try to play less compact if I have an opponent with weaker defense.

I don't box because I want to, I box because I forgot King is a grappler sometimes. One day I'd do iSWs after every single thing, plus or minus, another day I forgot they existed. lol Tekken 7 made his neutral too damn good, but makes sense when throws are weaker compared to older titles.

I've been practicing kings boxing ability to switch up game plans if need be. Usually d/f 2 or d/f 1 mux ups with 1,2,1 and either going into a throw or continue the string with a partial 10 hit combo for pressuring. Kings ch moves are just as much the butter to his game plan as his throws are the bread. I only really struggle against weird match ups like Lili who I think has one of the best sidesteps in the game as even though I'm a destroyer I started to notice people going to the left to avoid f f. N 2. I try not to shining wizard as much as a used to and go for wr 3+4 or wr 3 and sometimes if I'm being a bit arrogant I do stop and do a flying cross chop that either leads to d/b 3 ch or if I feel they're nervous with the pressure I tombstone them and giggle like the first time I hit one when tekken 4 was brand new seeing king tombstone xiayou in a underground parking garage. I just find it funny like I love king but if a man who speaks jaguar and is ripped tombstones a I think in cannon at the time 19 year old girl I can imagine the screaming and oh God my neck due to that games atmosphere. Also chicken running into the telephone booth in Shibuya is always fun. Though I still prefer tag 1, 7, and 5 it's just good memories and casual fun even though I started at 3 with my uncle. Took me till 2004 to try the first and second game which oddly enough I think 6 doesn't feel as special as 2 despite the lack of side stepping and moon jumping. 1 is just for hard-core fans that has a charm but it actually in my opinion aged worse than virtua fighter 2 in my opinion as it just feels stiffer. Still both are worth a shot for curiosity sake alone and kings d/f 1 in the first two games are insanely broken as on block I think in 1 it's plus 68 frames and about plus 24 in 2 which leads to an insta kill I'd not broken kings bridge. Which I'm surprised how few people in orange ranks break that and I don't think I've seen a tombstone broken yet and I think it's due to most people mashing 1+2 which unless if it's that specific break it comes out as a 1 break attempt I think. I'm just going by this one marduk series of matches I had where they'd always break the 1 or 1+2 break but never the 2 break. I always was more comfortable with 2+4 throws than 1+3 especially on my specific 6 button pad as it's dead in the middle and I feel like I can respond to a break better with how my fingers are positioned like choosing to hopkick or d/f 4 to stop lows like snakes edge or punish someone whose not keeping track of their advantage. I just notice a lot of flow chart people and punish them.

don't spam chaingrabs, you'll get out of early ranks but get stuck once your opponents learn how to throwbreak

That Kuni is not giving Majin any type of challenge. I'm super disappointed in them...😢

From what I've seen this kinda playstyle is going to be a lot less powerful in Tekken 8. They really want to emphasise that King is an in your face grappler. Still, darn impressive boxing skills, Mr Majin!
