Ogbu alulu emeghu nchiko melu diji aluna ife okulu n'ubi. Cutting without packing the cut stakes hampers a great yam farmer(diji) from staking what he planted(without packing the stakes, the great yam farmer cannot stake his yam. This will adversely affect his harvest).

I think reaching out to the singer will be of great help as dialect might truncate his intentions and distortion of meanings. Invite him let him sing and explain each line for you. Thanks

yes, he has done so. the lecturer want to get my own review too, since the owner of the song told him that i gave some more meanings to the song due to sound and language pronunciation difference, and it will be nice to get the comparison. thanks for this rally.

Nooooooooo!!!! You guys are getting it wrong seriously. Di nta chugha anu na enuwa ma ya enweghi onye ngbachido ya bu nu nkwukwu nara n'efu Nkwukwu is a bunch of leaves used to block where rabbits escape from. Somebody has to be there to catch it when it tries to escape. It's deeper and difficult to understand if you can't completely relate

@@IJELESOLID Igbu aruru emee nchiko, melu diji aruna ife okolu na'ubi.....hard to explain...but in essence, one needs to see jobs to an end. Aruru here refers to the stakes (usually bamboo) used in guiding yam tendrils....when you cut aruru you need gather them, if not it is of no use as you will not be able to use them to guide your yam or other climbing plants. This follows from the first proverb...Dinta chugha anu ...

@@IJELESOLID The song is basically praising some people like Ataka Rob etc who are helpers....supporters etc.. Ajo Ofia likens their help and support like the one who supports the dinta in hunting, the person that lifts off his heavy load (onye zelu ibu m bu n'ubi) etc.

@@IJELESOLID on mawalum oji: Ugani da ka o da, abuzu na ama abuba (fat)....abuzu is the fat cricket ...so no matter the famine, abuzu will always be fat. It is a praise of someone who come rain or come shine, they are always stable...a resilient person ...follows from the preceding proverbs...mkpume (rock) no na ikpere mmiri, ebuni(storm) tuzia an aru mkpume o zuru ike, Ebunu (ram) kwuru na nwoke na eri n'ude (resilience of the ram that never cries), A ga kata akpokwuru ka eji ama Dike (Eventualities makes the man) etc.

I so much appreciate your good intention, trying to explain some difficult lines. However, serious damage has been done to the meaning of some lines. Contact ajofia for more details, or better still, just listen to the music, as it contains serious deep meanings. That music is whole lot. You can write volumes from that music alone.
