This happened recently to someone we know as well. Exactly same way. A person calls impersonating a police officer , and say that they have their son in custody and he has done something wrong with a girl. And he made a sound clip of the son as well

I am in canada, I had the same issue with me with my husband name. the person called on my mobile with my husband's mobile number. Luckily that day my husband was working from home and he was standing near to me. If he would have gone to office not sure what would happened.

Yes, hearing about such incidents happening regularly nowadays...my son saw northern lights in Vancouver Canada..he sent pics..it was beautiful

Thank you, Anju it was very informative, same incidence is happenening in Goa if you have a relative or fly working abroad, their making calls saying that they are arrested in some drug case or rape case, and send money to release them, I think we all should be on guard and share it as much as possibe. AI is really getting to dangerous levels.

I'm from Mumbai, two of my friends in Mumbai got the same kind of call. The callers said that their son's were in their custody,the reason is the same as you mentioned, both set of parents were worried . Finally no one paid any money,but the mental tension the parents underwent for some time was too much.
