Thank you for this tutorial! I'm knitting my first vest (I've only ever done socks, scarves, and mittens before) and Drops knitting patterns aren't very helpful, but after your video I feel a lot more confident I can do it! :)

Thanks so much! I can finish my top down sweater now as these directions are very clear. I also love the way you knit as your left index finger works the same way as mine. I came for the buttonhole, but I also appreciate seeing how you wove in the ends.

I truly enjoy your videos. You and I hold our yarn and the finger movements are identical. I'm self taught....I find that fascinating! I feel like I am looking at my own hands.

I am knitting a cloak ala vision in my head pattern, would this be stable in a much longer/ larger number of rows for an arm slit like 15 to 18 rows? Thanks for all you have taught me❗ Without even knowing you have!😘

Suzanne, would you suggest to use stay tape to reinforce the front bands prior to installing zipper? Thank you 🙏

Suzanne, I am preparing to do a ribbed button band on a cardigan. I would prefer a "vertical" (really horizontal when you wear the sweater) buttonhole, as I think the buttons would sit better. But how do I do multiple buttonholes with this method on a whole buttonband? Do you keep cutting the yarn and doing separate sections as you move along?

  • @SuzanneBryan

The answer is yes, you will need to have small areas between the buttonholes that require their own yarn. More ends to weave in. But, they will be lovely. I love this type of buttonhole and use it a lot. Happy knitting.

This is my question too! Do you finish the top where both sides of the hole come back together one button at a time, or all as a unit, returning to knitting the whole row to close the gaps in the end?
