What if the car was never titled? My dad's 55 chevy was last on the road in 76 he got it in 72, in mass there were no titles as far as I know till 73-74. He's passed I have car now, the only docs I have are old excise tax receipts and a gift bill of sale. What can I do to get a title?

Tried it in Iowa, they wouldn’t let it go through. Forced me to get a bond which takes 3 years to expire, but the fees were actually cheaper than through Vermont. Bond was $100, plates were $25. Vermont wanted $180 for the plates.

In my state, this process seems far easier and cheaper than the bonded title route. The big thing is the 3 years. Also, I've heard of many people getting the clean (not bonded) title back in less than 1 year but the law says 3.

Scenario: 1999 truck, legal owner deceased, family doesn't want vehicle and there is an old open (not actual) lien. Will this work?

Hello, I have a 1968 Chevelle with an open title from 1994 …only signed by previous owner. I have owned the car since 2004. It needed a complete restoration which was just finished. What would suggest as the best course of action to take to title it in my name. I live in Kentucky …..thank you in advance!

Should be able to just title it in your name

I'm in PA and just got a motorcycle from a family member. It's titled in one of his friends co-workers name here in the same state. Can't get a hold of him to do it through PennDot so I was gonna do this method. My concern is I read that if the motorcycle is already titled in your state.. which in my case it is.. that it won't work and PA won't give me a title since it's already titled here. Anyone know about that?

I have a RV without Title. How could I go about finding out who was the owner on the title.

Haha my phone heard me grumbling about not being able to find a title for a project car i have ,and its beennoff the road too long to get a duplicate. Basically id have ro prove it's mine and its a big headache. And i coulda changed some particulars like from 4 to 2 door ,and now its a pickup. But i ended up finding my title ,whew.

I need a little help, I bought a dirt bike 2013 ktm 350 sxf no title over a year ago looked up vin come up not stolen, all i have is a paper that say i sold this dirt bike with make and model to me for price $xxxx and there name, signed how do i go about getting a title for this bike in Texas, i also was looking in to trying to convert it to street legal. (plated) not sure if i can. Can someone help me out ?

do you get your money back if ur registration application fails? i just applied to the vermont dmv for my 2008 si.... will thhey accept you think? will i still need smog in cali?

2008 is only 14 years old. You'll have to wait a year for this to work. And this has no affect on your local regulations. Once you get the VT registration you have to reregister it in your state and then follow local laws.

South Dakota is much better.. my cousin had his Ferrari stolen long story short .. salvage title and bought it back from his insurance and made the repairs but his state is very a*al about things so instead he went to South Dakota a registered his 2017 Ferrari while he finishes up.
