Vermont 100 Mile Endurance Race - RUNNING MY FIRST 100 MILE ULTRA

Спорт

Running My First 100 Miler - This is the story from both the runner's perspective and crew's perspective on The Vermont 100. Located in Eastern Vermont, this race has 17,000 ft of ascent and is a blend of roads, horse trails and pavement. A lot of the race runs on private property, so you can only run in these locations during The Vermont 100! Matt got deferred from 2019 and finally was able to run this course in 2022. We hope you enjoy the video as much as we did making it!

ABOUT US:
We are two motivated young professionals who have a love to travel. Currently, Matt is an Engineer and Meg is an Operations Manager. To see the world and the multitude of cultures it offers is something we are striving to do in order to grow into the best individuals we can be.
OUR HISTORY:
In 2015 we began dating and never would have thought about full time travel. Every summer, we would take a vacation to a new location in The United States - Acadia National Park, Provincetown MA and Nashville TN, to name a few. We would always come back wishing our trips were longer and filled with more local culture and cuisine. We just couldn’t get enough!

    I’ve been up for the race (spectating, crewing, pacing and volunteering, but not running) a dozen or so times over the years. It’s really great to be able to see it through fresh eyes. Thanks.

    Congratulations!!! It showed the highs and lows, and I could practically feel his pain that last mile. What a fun video, I felt like I was right there with you guys! I've only run 50ks so far, and my husband crews me, so it was great to see all the crew footage, and see the fun you had while supporting your runner! Also all the horse footage. My goal is to run the race AND ride the race in back to back years. Subscribed, looking forward to more adventures!

    Aww thank you so much!! It was so much fun and it was amazing getting to watch Matt push through the pain. That is so cool you want to run and ride it - I have a Morgan horse (there are some videos on my channel of him too, lol), and I was thinking the same thing!!! How cool would it be to ride the 100 and then the next year go back and run? I wish you luck on your quest to do that - maybe I’ll see you out there 🐎 😉 🏃‍♀️

    Thank you!! Matt killed it. The Salomon pack was the Sense Pro 10. He is usually a size medium but got a large, because he heard they ran small. If you order it, I’d recommend doing the same. This one fit great and worked awesome!

    No trekking poles at Vermont! I’m not 100% sure why, but would assume it is because of the horses 😊

    Why no trekking poles allowed?

  • @chasingcultures

    @chasingcultures

    Hey!! I think it is because there are horses, and it could be a hazard with them. I’m not exactly sure though!
