Cappuccilli has a gorgeous voice. I wonder if he ever sang this with Vickers

Fantastic Domingo and Cappucilli! Domingo owned the role of Otello in the 1970s/80s/90s, and he was lauded for good reasons.

@@waynewilliams4706 Virgilio Miranda stated that it was a B natural, so I shared with him that it was a B-flat. If that's obsessive, then I'm guilty.

Domingo was called "Nasingo" by the Italians because his voice is so nasal! He does not have enough drmatic power for Otello. Cappuccilli on the other hand, is a prince among baritones and sounds much louder in the theatre than he does on recordings.

Joseph Shore I suppose that explains why he sang Otello in every great theater in the world, under the baton of all the great maestros!!!

The magnitud and lenth of Domingo's succes it's all enough by It self. "Nasingo"... The italians... The dramatic power... At the end non mattered, did they?

I don't think Domingo was nasal. I heard him in a Trovatore in the late 1970s on radio and he sang very well. But later on as he aged, he became tight in the passaggio and higher. I think his voice was of a fine velvet quality but not much squillo. I have criticized him often, but we were fortunate to have him. I don't believe He was a great tenor, but certainly a fair to good or excellent at times. He certainly had the stamina to sing many roles through his very long excellent career

@@wotan10950 Voice teachers tend to say that Domingo’s technique is not one to emulate. He liked singing with his tongue in his throat, and that caused him to do a lot of unorthodox things, including excessive placement in the mask and arguably the nose, especially as his career progressed. His problematic top was symptomatic of that. He did however have vocal cords of steel. On paper, his voice should not have sounded as good as it did and have persisted as long as it did.

Two good singers badly overparted!

Non so perche ascolti Domingo se non ti piace affatto niente che lui cante. Il pubblico di Vienna ha applaudito l'Otello de Placido 30 minuti nel 1991.

@@gabrielvelascorios8892 Guarda Signora, ''un grandissimo artista lirico'' privo dalla madre natura della grande voce lirica vera questo ''fenomeno '' nella storia della lirica non ha mai esistito! in Otello Merli,Del Monaco, Fleta, Caruso, Pertile, Salazar,Paoli,De Muro, Vinay, Usunov, Cossuta, Nikolov,Giacomini e compagnia questi Signori si che erano dei GRANDI OTELLO o avevano almeno la vera voce d'Otello !... accanto a loro Domingo come Otello faceva pallida figura,e' un fatto . il vecchio
