I have a medical condition which means I am in constant pain in both my feet. I have tried numerous painkilling drugs but none of them have had any effect. The only thing have found which gives some relieve is to listen to this chorus and watch videos of it. I do this every day, it has become my therapy.

my father, who passed away three years ago used to sing this to me even though he didn’t speak a single word of italian but i was 11 so i thought he was really knowing what he was saying. now i come back to this exact video whenever i miss him . fantastic piece!

Habe dieses Stück immer mit meinen Vater verbunden, da er es auf dem Akkordeon gespielt hat und dazu gesungen. Er war Physik und Mathelehrer und ich fühle mich heute noch verbunden mit ihrem Vater. Wunderschön, was Musik ausmachen kann u Verbundenheit spüren lässt.♥️

I am italian and of course I understand all words, but I am sure that any international audience can feel and understand everything, even if they don' t know the Italian language. I sang in my church choir and asked the director to use phonics to help me and it worked for such songs as "Ave Vernum corpus" I used words I could understand " Unda Fluxit" became unda-fluke seat" Silly maybe but it worked rather then having to learn the language.

I first heard it in l'arena di Verona, a Roman coloseum type structure. The audience began rhytmic clapping afterward. The maestro turned, bowed slightly and began again and ten thousand voices joined in! Still moves me to tears.

Verdi pure genius. What a magnificent body of work this man produced in his life time. In my opinion opera is unmatched in terms of complexity beauty emotion and of curse difficulty. The dedication intelligence musicality desire and pure natural talent performers must have to produce this art form well is awesome.Let’s not forget the amazingly talented people in the pit. The people behind the scenes designing and building the sets. The lighting the choreography. And all of this with no amplification. Truly amazing. Thank you.

Magnífico el coro y su representacion. Bellisima la canción. Verdi compuso el tema"la huida de los esclavos de la poderosa Babilonia", hace más de doce mil años.. I have a medical condition which means I am in constant pain in both my feet. I have tried numerous painkilling drugs but none of them have had any effect. The only thing have found which gives some relieve is to listen to this chorus and watch videos of it. I do this every day, it has become my therapy.

my father, who passed away three years ago used to sing this to me even though he didn’t speak a single word of italian but i was 11 so i thought he was really knowing what he was saying. now i come back to this exact video whenever i miss him . fantastic piece!

Habe dieses Stück immer mit meinen Vater verbunden, da er es auf dem Akkordeon gespielt hat und dazu gesungen. Er war Physik und Mathelehrer und ich fühle mich heute noch verbunden mit ihrem Vater. Wunderschön, was Musik ausmachen kann u Verbundenheit spüren lässt.♥️

I sung these for nine months in 3rd grade (Italy) as part of a school choir….unforgettable…. It’s about the oppressed Italian shown through the Israelite people enslaved in Babylon….
What can we say other that wonderful music, words and chorus. I am italian and of course I understand all words, but I am sure that any international audience can feel and understand everything, even if they don' t know the Italian language. Indeed Giuseppe Verdi was able to penetrate inside hearts and souls. Grazie Maestro.

I sang in my church choir and asked the director to use phonics to help me and it worked for such songs as "Ave Vernum corpus" I used words I could understand " Unda Fluxit" became unda-fluke seat" Silly maybe but it worked rather then having to learn the language.

@@glenbearh9109 we are now lucky with Google Translate and stuff like that which can give the sound of any pronunciation. Anyway the words you quoted are Latin language in neo Latin form, which is even easier than Italian language pronunciation(less sounds)

First time I heard this, I had NO idea of the song's context. The majority of my Italian is of the culinary sort. Not even the fourth line in, and I wept unexpected & uncontrollably. Verdi's ABSOLUTE best! 💖🎶

Verdi pure genius. What a magnificent body of work this man produced in his life time. In my opinion opera is unmatched in terms of complexity beauty emotion and of curse difficulty. The dedication intelligence musicality desire and pure natural talent performers must have to produce this art form well is awesome.Let’s not forget the amazingly talented people in the pit. The people behind the scenes designing and building the sets. The lighting the choreography. And all of this with no amplification. Truly amazing. Thank you.

Magnífico el coro y su representacion. Bellisima la canción. Verdi compuso el tema"la huida de los esclavos de la poderosa Babilonia", hace más de doce mil años.. Es una canción grandiosa, bella porque pone de acuerdo o todos los sentidos del ser humano.. Gracias por tu legado J. VERDI.. ETERNO SIEMPRE...
