The issue is that as much as I enjoyed the first Venom, I admit that it was a case of dumb luck considering Sony's classical incompetence. However Sony took the wrong notes, and instead of giving it an R rating, they doubled down with the PG-13, which crippled the movie considerably. And even if Marvel took the rights back from Sony, if feel like they're going to do the same mistakes as Sony because they already confirmed that the upcoming Blade movie is going to be PG-13. So when it comes from movies, Venom is screwed

I still think it's good as a movie, but it could've been better if it was R-rated. And frankly, Carnage is a character that BELONGS in an R-rated setting, more so than Venom. I did read for myself this time online that Sony was gonna make it R-rated, but then changed their mind and made it a PG-13, because they thought it would pull in a larger audience. That's actually what I read. You'd think they'd have learned from making the last movie a PG-13, but I guess not. I have the same opinion about the first Venom movie as I do this one: it was good, but could've been better with an R rating.

Despite it's flaws, I still like Venom: Let There Be Carnage as a movie. Granted, it would have been better if it was rated R & Carnage not being killed off. That being said, I still like this movie. As far as the end credits goes, I am eager to see what Venom will do when he meets Spider-Man in No Way Home.

For the record, we do see Eddie and Venom interacting with a bartender about the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe during the events of No Way Home only to be sent back to Sony's Spider-Man Universe with a small speck of the symbiote left behind teasing either Spider-Man becoming Venom or (MCU) Venom vs. Spider-Man.

I enjoyed this movie quite a bit, however I agree with pretty much everything you said in this video. The movie was severely held back by the PG-13 rating and was just way too short to really develop parts of it that I think could’ve been amazing. And as you mentioned, Woody Harrelson as Carnage could’ve been much better. Before I found out about the film’s age rating, I believed Harrelson was gonna kill it in the role; but of course Sony messed that up. I also felt like the humor was a tad bit too juvenile for a Venom movie. So, all in all, I think the movie was just okay. Could’ve been infinitely better, but hey, it is what it is…

My God, I f*cking hate Sony! Seriously, how freaking hard can it be to make a decent Venom or Carnage movie?! I can’t believe how money-hungry they are, even compared to the Mouse itself!!!

The PG-13 rating kinda ruined the movie for me

I really want this movie to be rated r, because….. IT HAVE CARNAGE!

I honestly always had a feeling that this film just felt very wrong at the start, because when I found out that the length was actually an 1 hour & half and not 2 hours. I thought that the websites were lying about it, but they weren't actually and I was thinking like: "But... WHY? Why will they even bother with that?!" And while I was watching it with my friend, I really wished that this film was rated R and not PG-13 because it is not right. And Venom just is... uh, not the Venom that I actually know. Is really such a mess I'm telling you man. And I don't feel hyped about him appearing in the MCU, because I always KNEW that Sony really wanted to get Venom into MCU ever since then. Which I'm not even excited.

Your reviews are really fun to watch, this is coming from a fellow who has somewhat lost interest in watching modern English/Hollywood movies ever since the pandemic began.

5:32 Sony does not care because they know no matter how much we complain we will still watch their movies.

Eric, there’s a Godzilla movie out there called Godzilla vs Hedorah, a movie in which it succeeded in what Let Therr Be Carnage failed at; brutality. Spoilers ahead, but Hedorah’s sulfuric mist was conveyed far better than Carnage’s razor tentacles. Why? Because people dissolve to BONE and we see it all its full glory! It’s disturbing and Let There Be Carnage should’ve done something similar, like how you described it in your Spider-Man 3 VS Venom video. And GvH was made back in 1971, with a $250,000 budget!

@@TheEnglishScotsman352- All deleted scenes have been reintegrated into the film -cut a few cringy moments that hurt the pacing -added the extended mid-credit scene from Venom 1 to the prologue - Completely redubbed Carnage - added gory sound effects and 1 extra F-bomb to at least try and make it R rated All in all, runs about 11 minutes longer than the theatrical cut

The Batman. Its a movie first and foremost and its being written and directed by the amazing Director who made Dawn and War for the Planet of the Apes. Whereas NWH is being written by the guys that made Antman and the Wasp and it is also spending most of its time establishing the multi-verse so it can setup future movies, rather than making a great standalone movie that stands on its own. Also keep in mind, that NWH is going to continue with Dr Strange 2 in the Multiverse of Madness. So the movie will most likely not feel like a complete story.

The Batman by far bro ! NWH has nothing except fan service. The directing is lame, no visual ambition, there will probably be continuity problems, the Home trilogy is already chaotic with Homecoming and FFH (whether it is the romance inconsistency between two movies or the thematics contradictions) so I don’t except to much consistency with that final movie. The Batman on the other looks beautiful at everything. The story sounds insane, the esthetic is magnificent, the actors look great, and the source material used for the movie is so promising. I just want to say that I love both DC and Marvel, and that I will probably have a wonderful time seeing it, but The Batman looks insane and better on every single level. Wait and see, but there are so few chances that NWH will surpass The Batman or even some previous Spidey movies

I’m guessing this movie didn’t do the 90s edge with Carnage justice.

@Eric Carter honestly it saddens me that this move wasn’t r rated because carnage is such an insane cereal killer and seeing him toned down so much is just hart braking especially since he gave birth to toxin at the end of the move but I am interested to see how toxin and venoms relationship will be like and see venom name his grandson and venom in the movie did crack a lot of jokes but at lest he had a personality witch in my opinion was a bit more entertaining than the MCU

Carnage is perfectly bonded to Cassidy in the comics and can travel using the internet in the comics

I personally think it’s better than the first venom and I personally really enjoyed. Even as a casual fan, the comic deviations is really bullshit. Like really? Carnage and Cletus weren’t a complete symbiotic match? BRUH, THEY WERE BETTER THAN EDDIE AND VENOM IN TERMS OF SYMBIOSIS

@@EricCarter12 all I can say is that I think that movie FINALLY understands what you are looking for in the Holland movies. The emotion, characters, villains, story and journey of Peter all feel so much more genuine than they did in Homecoming. It honestly feels more directed by the Russo brothers than it does Jon Watts. I think this movie will win you over. It isn’t perfect but it is probably the most epic and darkest Spider-Man movie we have today and to come from the MCU Holland movies that is unexpected. The trailers also do NOT do this movie justice. It is WAY better than the promotional material made it out to be.

I’ll give this movie this. Carnage (while not done justice to his comic book counterpart at all) is a much better villain than Riot. Woody Harrelson at least seems to be having more fun than Riz Ahmed.

I feel you man I really hate Sony and their direction with doing these movies a serial killer is not supposed to be a PG-13 character no matter how hard you try there is no way you can make a serial killer work as a PG-13 character

If I hated this movie, which I didn’t, I wouldn’t blame Andy Serkis either as Sony would be responsible as always.

Mary Jane was engaged to someone in Spider-man 2 and left him at the altar.

I think the worst thing Sony has done was underusing Angourie Rice as Betty Brant in the Tom Holland Spider Man movies which is a real shame because I think she is a great actress and I am a huge fan of her!

I was like Eric, on the fact that the movie makes no complete sense with the plot and it only starts going when the movie "needs" it too go, and my biggest WTF is with venoms jokes, seriously, those jokes are MCU based and I laugh at some of the MCU humour but in this movie I was like WTF. (And I'm 12) and the fact that they killed carnage really surprised me, because they setting up a character (officer plot) who is toxin. But, toxin needs carnage too be created, so killing him off. And I know SONY is going too pull an answer out of their asses how he becomes toxin.

I'm seeing no way home this Friday I'm so excited

I’m definitely very late for this, but making a movie with carnage Pg-13 is the same as making a Spawn movie or peacemaker or a Deathstroke movie pg-13, it just doesn’t work at all. There are many characters that just don’t work at all with a pg-13 rating. Side note: I actually thought when carnage says “let there be carnage” with the lightning was really cool, that’s like the only part I liked in this movie

This movie was SO forgettable. 2 years later, and I remembered just how horrendous Sony did with this. Venom 1 was a 9/10 10/10 for me Carnage, a movie I wanted to be 11/10 was a 1/10 2/10. Only good thing was the artwork/character design, whatever u wanna call it.
