This is something to recognize as a Celebration!!! People have to be responsible in many ways. Maybe family members will resolve their difficulties. Maybe people will work more than one job or quit collecting disability illegally. it will deter crime and health issues. Celebrate we are claiming OR reclaiming our self responsibilities and not becoming victims to mass propaganda that destroys the human spirit. We are fighting for our freedom not to become animals and degenerates. it will STOP the infestation of diseases spread through drug use and immoral behavior. CELEBRATE!! THIS IS NOT SAD! You can will need a metal detector to sweep the area before for needles or other metallic trash before you can even walking on the beach.

It was used as a kitty litter tray also. Change the sand, dig it up, replace it Imagine digging up human waste with your kid's on the next outing to the beach. Yucky .

One thing that might work is as soon as a tent goes up, it gets taken down. Not even give them an overnight to get a foothold.

It's amazing that it takes a battle between public officials to make LA City clean up public spaces.

That was so satisfying, I watched the whole thing. Thank you for all your hard work. Thank you to those in charge that made a decision. Best way to get rid of pigeons? Don't feed them.

A fair number of the homeless have mental health problems. Another fair number have addiction problems. Some have both. You could put them up in a penthouse suite and they would be back on the streets. The issue is way more complicated than giving the homeless a clean place to live.

Also to LAPD the social workers to everyone who is making this happen for VB and beach areas... You all are hard workers... You all deserve a pay raise and bonus .. 👍

It’s funny that they have money for drugs and alcohol, and all of that other crap, but don’t have enough to pull their resources together to have a decent place to live with a toilet and shower.

Fentanyl is very cheap. It is not like 20 years ago when street drugs were mostly plant based and expensive. Now, drugs are synthetic and cheap. Homeless can beg on a side of road and collect enough money for fentanyl.

I feel bad for the homeless, but you can’t just bring all that crap and leave it on the beach. It’s unsightly. It attracts bugs, roaches, mice, rats, etc… Got to go! Now they need to pressure wash, paint, and clean everything!

Well said hun! Not rocket science is it? Put your garbage in the bin. Mental health is no excuse for not picking up your garbage and throwing it in the bin. They can line up for a money cheques from welfare , soup kitchen, hand outs, they can use a garbage bin. No line up there!

The police roust them once a month or so from around where I work and piles of trash 7 feet tall are left behind every time. When I go out to work in the morning and stop for 15 minutes or so to establish my wifi connection, VPN and figure out where I'm going to be working that day, if you're parked to close to the bums they'll come out like you're trespassing on their property and try and chase you off.

You could start your own supermarket with all those shopping carts

Its probably a homeless person that stole someones uniform after he took it off to use the John. He couldn't pass up an opportunity to get some more free garbage. I bet he weighs no more than 120 pounds. All the rest is goodies he's stuffed in that suit.

The reason most people there are homeless is because they don't like to follow rules. In Ontario a few years back the city provided a homeless camp. First they implemented a no drugs or alcohol rule most of them left, And then no pets rule the rest left and it closed down.

They better get a hold on the rodent explosion, every time the break a tent down 10 or 15 mice run out. Looked like the birds were pickin a few of them off though.

This is a positive step to help the businesses and especially the residents of the Yenice, CA beach area. The homeless are still doing what they started doing nothing.

I hate the a*holes that damaged the palm trees.

Why aren’t the shopping carts left or gathered in a central location for the merchants to retrieve? Where I live they periodically round them up (or pay someone to), take them to the car wash and bring them back to the store.

Seen stores get new carts over time for any reason cause try add locks to now leave lot but then those who try keep any try remove wheel that locks or break it to use it and so carts or basically stolen for own gain sometimes. but now some or many know which places got cart no lock and make sure to hide cart so use anytime so not lock any.

This is great but are you gona do it often?, you know there coming right back!

Every time you see a homeless person pushing a shopping cart full of his stuff, just remember, grocery stores normally don't sell those carts, and they run around $450 each.

Shopping carts stolen from businesses, going right into the landfill.

Where do they manage to find so many things to drag to the beach if they're good at finding so much stuff they could probably buy a house

Getting these ppl housing is the first step. But there needs to a plan to care for them after that. Drug addiction, mental illness, etc, will just lead to them being on the streets again. That being said, I applaud the city for finally taking action. It's a complex issue with no easy fix, but this is a good start.

Did people’s republic of California provide homeless with bus tickets to NY?

2 tents? thats a great job? They could do it in a DAY ,,this is just for show COme with an ARMY 200 people 25 /50 trucks and progressively go down the whole beach THAT'S HOW TO DO IT

I do believe the state should find a nice bit of acreage for these people to be homeless at and provide them sanitation transportation and medical and food with that not on the beach not in the middle of the city not in the subdivisions out in the country somewhere

I wish Riverside would do this. The homeless in Riverside has exploded. Homeless Encampments everywhere and drugs to.

Maybe now someone will lease or rent or buy those properties. Property value raising with every load they throw away. But isnt there social workers or outreach crews there?
