Venezuela's Luxury Market For The Rich 🇻🇪
In Margarita exist the biggest supermarket I've seen in Venezuela and with the most imported products. 4-6 years ago Venezuela faced its biggest food crisis and over 5 million fled the country. Nowadays you can find any food product and also some imported goods but it will cost you a lot of money. The current minimum wage is at about $30 USD a month which is about a 300% increase from when I arrived in the country a few months ago. Basically only a select few can afford to shop here except for when it come to alcohol which is extremely cheap in the Venezuelan island which has no tax on alcohol.

Just found your channel a few days ago. I’m finding your videos very informative as I’m soon to start my backpacking lifestyle in the Latin American countries. It Just seems to fit my lifestyle better than the US. Damn your videos are making me hungry and thirsty for beers and booze. Maybe I catch you out there. Thanks brother 🍺🍺🥃🥃👍🎸

That's my kind of supermarket, I would buy way more than I need but oh well. It definitely has a Wegmans/Whole foods essence to it. I'm enjoying Alejandra coming out of her shell little by little. She's looking adorable with the hat. Bro, without you I wouldn't have known anything about Venezuela and the differences among it's states. A bottle of McCallen “Single Malt” in Jersey is about $70.00 sales tax included. I found the same “double cask” 750 ml at $122.00 in Valencia, but it seems that this store has it at $94.00
very nice, at least they are not starving as a few years ago or are those that have no dollars still do?

Is the dollars in USD?
This is a perfect example of what kind of economy socialism results in. The poor get locked into poverty as they're dependent on the government. While the wealthy enjoy special privileges the poor will NEVER get to access to no matter how hard they work, plan, save, invest, etc.
