I need to change my transmission fluid for my 2015 Veloster. It requires DCT fluid but I’m having trouble finding one. Can anyone recommend a good brand of DCT fluid I can use?

My Hyundai Dealer said that its just a regular 75w85 gear oil. You can use 75w90 too.

Veloster DCT is annoying at slow speeds and it jerks. In extremely slow moving traffic it's horrid.

check with your dealer, they released a logic update for the transmission control unit. Also a dual clutch should be driven like a manual in traffic, if you didn't want to deal with that you should of gotten the regular automatic.

The dct is garbage , I know a guy has a 16 model he bought it brand new and by the time he hit 10k miles it started messing up , he’s went thru 2 transmissions and finnaly traded for a manual VT like a smart person would lol 😂 they might run good for a little while but won’t be long it’ll be tore up again

It is an automated manual, programmed for fuel economy, and the effort of dealing with the third pedal has turned into switching to manual mode in slow traffic and popping a paddle + then both to hit neutral to coast, then popping a gear again to go a few car lengths further, then on the back roads or highway, let it do the shifting on it's own. The key is reducing engagements. By law the reverse gear must slip to be safe and prevent a takeoff. It is all in the oil and it needs changed every 3rd oil change. hill assist is also a controlled clutch smear. It is not a normal car, it is a different kind of beast that requires more responsibility, and that sweet warranty, but it sure beats a CVT. Poppin paddles on a DCT are a must, on a CVT they are longevity shredders, a rare situation that I disagree with good ol' Scotty Kilmer on.

Expensive to maintain and replacements cost in excess of $6000 as of 6/29/13. Just not worth it...

TRUE, I have 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport Turbo 7SPD DCT. I called the dealer and asked how much the clutch pack is replace if it failed. Two Hyundai dealers confirmed, they have to replace the entire DCT transmission if the clutch pack failed, and both quoted at price at $6,000. I do a lot of city driving, now I think I made a mistake buying the car.

@@letsgocapsbeatpens The clutch pack is meant to be replaced. It comes in a kit with engegement forks and throw-out bearings. A mechanic takes the transmission off, uses a special set of tools to remove the clutch pack and install a new one. It should be more in the 1500-2000$ range of repair, labour included, depending on where you live. The dealers who said they have to change the entire transmission are money-grabbing cunts or completely clueless. Trust me, if the clutch has worn out under warranty, they'll just replace the clutch pack, not the whole transmission. There's literally no reason to replace the gear system, the clutch engagement servos or the transmission control unit if they're working properly... And those things are designed to last the lifetime of the car.

Hyundai's have a 10 year 100k mile warranty covers the transmission as well...if you have a 2017, your tranny is covered until 2027.
